    Hostelworld.com's award winning city video guides are introduced to the site. Presented by Editor Colm Hanratty, the series "10 things you need to know about…" provide travellers with top tips for the world’s most popular cities
    Hostelworld.com reaches major milestone of 10 million bookings

    First podcast goes live on Hostelworld.com. To date there are 71 podcasts featuring interviews with characters from various cities along with city guides packed with money-saving tips and information on must-see landmarks
    mobile.hostelworld.com is launched allowing customers to easily search and book hostels from their mobile phone
    Hostelworld.com rebrands with the tagline "Sleep Easy" echoing the reassurance you get from booking your hostel on the award winning site
    Editor Colm Hanratty heads 'Around the World in 80 Days' keeping a video journal of his travels - the first travel video to feature on the website

    Hostelworld.com becomes the first online booking site to develop its own travel network 'MyWorld'. The network enables users to connect with fellow travelers, plot their journey on a personal map, view bookings, review hostels, upload photos and blogs and arrange to meet fellow travelers
    The company opens its 3rd office in Shanghai, China
    Hostelworld.com reaches 5 million bookings

  • 2005

    Hostelworld.com launches Cancellation Protection. Customers can now pay to protect their deposit should they need to cancel a booking. The deposit can then be re-used on a new booking
    Hostelworld.com reaches a milestone of 10,000 properties bookable on the site
