Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Festival is Ireland’s biggest party, and the world’s biggest arty! It is the one national holiday that is celebrated in more countries than any other and St. Patrick's Day is the day when everyone wants to be Irish…and in Dublin! March 17th is celebrated in style throughout the globe but the BIG party is not to be missed is in Dublin!

A five day extravaganza of music street theatre, carnivals, dance, pageantry, comedy, is kicked off with the impressive Night Spectacle – illuminating the Dublin sky while music, dance and colourful parades pack the streets below!

With over 4,000 performers and 1 million people celebrating, Dublin becomes the party capital of the world! St. Patrick would be proud!

St. Patrick’s Festival Events
From the 15th to the 19th March Dublin becomes gripped by the biggest annual event in the country providing entertainment for all interests and ages.

Opening Night Spectacle – Thursday 15th March
The festival will open with a stunning night spectacle involving colourful parades, music, dance and a thrilling finale.

An Lá Gaelach – Friday 16th March
An exciting event which promotes the Irish language among visitors and residents. Participants will follow a fun informal itinerary of workshops and entertainment conducted through Irish.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Saturday 17th March
The biggest and best in the world! For over two hours you will be entertained by a breathtaking display of creative talent as the Parade weaves through the city centre. Irish street theatre companies, ceremonial groups and international marching bands will create an exciting carnival atmosphere. The parade is a piece of moving theatre with colourful costumes, flamboyant performances and outstanding musical talent were on show.

Céilí Mór – Saturday 17th March
Thousands of people will be kicking up their feet to the infectious music at the largest outdoor Irish music and dance event in the world. The sound of traffic around the City Centre will be diminished, and a more cultural beat will dominate, as thousands of tapping feet (and clapping hands) give all they have to the Céilí Mór.

Barabbas 40 Songs of Green – Saturday 17th March
An hilarious evening of clowning and song. Enjoy this musical celebration of "Irish-ness" played by 200 singers and five Barabbas actors/clowns. Musically impressive, culturally illuminating and very funny...this is an evening of theatre - concert style!

Denny Treasure Hunt – Sunday 18th March
Come along to a fun filled day at the Denny Treasure Hunt - an exciting trail around the city unravelling riddles and discover hidden gems. It is a free event for all ages, providing a rare opportunity to explore and rediscover the city of Dublin.

The National Lottery Skyfest – Sunday 18th March
A breathtaking fireworks display is unleashed over and above the River Liffey. Thousands gather on the quays to view this awesome pyro-musical show where dazzling colours and explosive effects are choreographed to an amazing soundtrack. Elements of this event have been created as part of a Culture 2000 collaborative project with the cities of Prague and Krakow.
