The Domaine de la fosse is in the 'petite camargue' between Saint Gilles and Aigues Mortes, along the petit Rhone, 17km from Arles.
A former cereal, vine and fruit farm, for some years the domaine de la fosse has concentred on the production of rice. 'the rice stretches its toes into the water and its head towards the sun'.
The farm house is an ancient command post, built by the knights of the maltese cross, who founded a hospital in saint gilles in 1112AD. the domaine de la fosse has been carefully restored. The restorations have retained all the charm and subtlely of the petite camargue.
