It is really a group of islands split by tidal channels called bights, covered in pine forest, mangroves and creeks, with only a few thousand people living in small settlements along the east coast.\r\n\r\nIt has the highest concentration of blue holes in the world: deep, round sinkholes in the limestone, some inland in the forest and some offshore in the sea. Just off the east coast runs the Andros Barrier Reef, one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, which drops into the deep water of the Tongue of the Ocean.
