Barrio Chino means \u2018Chinatown\u2019 in Spanish, and here you\u2019ll find a main street lined with Chinese-style restaurants and shops. You might be feeling a bit tired by now, but it\u2019s time to shop till you drop. This beautiful neighbourhood is characterised by two parks, Parque Espa\u00f1a and Parque M\u00e9xico. There are plenty of tree-lined paths here, and people often walk their dogs here.<\/li>\n<li>At <a href=\"http:\/\/neveriaroxy.com.mx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"post links\"><strong>Never\u00eda Roxy<\/strong><\/a>, a vintage-style ice-cream parlour, you can enjoy an ice cream made with Mexican fruits such as guava to cool off.<\/li>\n<li>Take a stroll through this lovely neighbourhood and pop into <strong>El P\u00e9ndulo<\/strong>, a bookshop-cum-caf\u00e9 that enchants everyone who steps inside.<\/li>\n<li>Have a meal at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eltizoncito.com.mx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"post links\"><strong>El Tizoncito<\/strong><\/a>, a taqueria with a brilliant menu and reasonable prices; as soon as you\u2019ve taken your seat, the waiter will bring you a tower of toto-pos (maize crisps) with a variety of salsas. Inside the museum, be sure to explore every building, including the special exhibition on Frida Kahlo\u2019s clothing and the story behind each garment. There\u2019s also a film that\u2019s shown continuously, which makes for a great learning experience.<\/li>\n<li>Visit the <strong>Mercado de Coyoac\u00e1n<\/strong>, where you can have lunch and stock up on snacks at a fantastic market. From clothes to fruit to tostadas, you\u2019ll find everything your heart desires here. Try a tostada and admire the huge bowls of fillings, ranging from vegetarian options to seafood and meat. This is a local speciality that you can share with friends.<\/li>\n<li>There are plenty of other things to see in Coyoac\u00e1n, making it a lovely place to spend a relaxing day. We\u2019ve got plenty of suggestions for what you could do next\u2026<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Day 4: Boat trip on the canals<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>On a four-day trip to Mexico City, a boat trip in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitmexico.com\/en\/main-destinations\/mexico-city\/xochimilco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"post links\"><strong>Xochimilco<\/strong><\/a> is a unique and fun experience (and do practise pronouncing that funny name!) Xochimilco is a canal district of Mexico City outside the city centre, whose main attraction is a gondola ride.<\/p>\n<p>To get to Xochimilco, take a taxi, a car or a shared ride. A good time to leave the city centre for Xochimilco is around 11 am, as the journey can take up to 60 minutes. A boat trip in Xochimilco is ideal for one or two friends and is most fun in a large group. Be sure to take plenty of photos of this Mexican experience!<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re taking a taxi back into the city, you should have dinner at <a href=\"https:\/\/mr.mercadoroma.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"post links\"><strong>the Mercado Roma<\/strong><\/a> in the Roma district. Here you can sample artisanal dishes from all over Mexico and enjoy them in a large, cosy hall. Although it\u2019s a vast historical site with plenty of space, most visitors only want to climb the two largest pyramids. Especially at weekends, you might find yourself lost in the crowds.<\/li>\n<li><b>Getting there:<\/b> You can book one of the many guided tours (ask your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostelworld.com\/findabed.php\/ChosenCity.Mexico-City\/ChosenCountry.Mexico\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"post links\">hostel staff<\/a>!) or take the public bus. To take the public bus, take the metro to Autobuses del Norte, wherever you\u2019re staying, and look out for \u201cel bus para Teotihuacan\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><b>What to bring<\/b>: It can get very hot in Teotihuacan for most of the year, so bring sun cream, a hat and a water bottle.
