Del Toros team forvandlet deler av <strong data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"1207\">Royal Mile<\/strong> &#8211; byens historiske hovedgate &#8211; til 1850-tallets Edinburgh. P\u00e5 <strong data-start=\"1343\" data-end=\"1364\">Parliament Square<\/strong> utenfor St. Giles&#8217; Cathedral bygde de til og med en livlig markedsplass fra 1800-tallet, komplett med en regnmaskin som dynket brosteinene for \u00e5 skape en dramatisk effekt. Dette stedet, ved siden av Writers&#8217; Museum, b\u00f8d p\u00e5 utfordringer p\u00e5 grunn av turistmassene og den trange plassen, men de ruvende leieg\u00e5rdene ga den perfekte dystre rammen for hengningsscenen. Et av hovedstedene er <strong data-start=\"3318\" data-end=\"3335\">Gosford House<\/strong> i East Lothian, omtrent en halvtime fra Edinburgh. I <em data-start=\"4249\" data-end=\"4263\">Frankenstein<\/em> dukker Seacliff opp n\u00e5r skapningen r\u00f8mmer fra t\u00e5rnet og skyller opp fra havet. Filmopptakene fant sted p\u00e5 denne stranden, med de majestetiske ruinene av <strong data-start=\"4406\" data-end=\"4426\">Tantallon Castle<\/strong> synlig p\u00e5 odden. Det er en virkelig filmatisk utsikt &#8211; gyllen sand, b\u00f8lgeskvulp og et middelalderslott som ruver i det fjerne. I filmen er dette viktorianske herskapshuset det overd\u00e5dige hjemmet til Henrich Harlander (Christoph Waltz), Frankensteins velgj\u00f8rer. Den minneverdige scenen der Lady Elizabeth (Mia Goth) spiller piano dryppende av diamanter, ble spilt inn i Hospitalfields salong &#8211; som bemerkelsesverdig nok nesten ikke trengte noen kulisser fordi rommets vegger allerede er dekket av nydelig 1800-tallskunst. Hospitalfield har en lang historie (bygget i 1260 og senere kunstskole og kunstnerbolig) og sies \u00e5 utstr\u00e5le en hjems\u00f8kt energi i egen person. Arbroath er en sjarmerende kystby &#8211; pr\u00f8v den lokale spesialiteten &#8220;Arbroath smokies&#8221; med r\u00f8kt fisk mens du er der.
