Twentytu\u00a0was\u00a0the first hostel in the world to achieve sustainable building certification, implementing energy efficiency measures, recycling, and responsible use of water from the network from the very beginning.\u00a0\u201cBut what makes us most proud is that sustainability is not just a label: it\u2019s part of our way of living and managing every day,\u201d Josep tells.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a framework for their\u00a0approach to\u00a0sustainability,\u00a0Twentytu\u00a0has joined the Sustainable Development Goals initiative of\u00a0the\u00a0United Nations,\u00a0which\u00a0aims\u00a0to address the\u00a0main sustainability issues\u00a0facing\u00a0humanity.\u00a0Twentytu\u00a0is contributing towards 15 of these 17 goals.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The biggest challenge for\u00a0Twentytu\u00a0has been proving that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand. \u201cAt first, investing in efficient technology and sustainable materials was an economic challenge, but over time,\u00a0we saw that we not only reduced CO\u2082 emissions, but also attracted a more committed audience. The key was staying true to our vision, even when the path seemed harder,\u201d Josep says.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
