Queues here can be painfully long so to save time book your tickets online beforehand.<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards bask in <b>Piazza della Signoria<\/b>, one of Florence&#8217;s bustling squares. Just off it on <b>Piazza Cimatori<\/b> is a <b>&#8216;trippai&#8217;<\/b> (tripe stands) which sells, well, tripe! Grab a tripe sandwich because, as the phrase goes, \u2018When in Rome&#8230;\u2019 (or in this case when in Florence). From here take a stroll along the <b>River Arno<\/b> stopping along the way to study otters and rowers! From here you can also see the <b>Ponte Vecchio<\/b>, the best-known of all the bridges to cross the river.<\/p>\n<p>Finish the night off in the <b>Santa Croce<\/b> district, known as the city\u2019s most vibrant. It is full of bars,<b>Red Garter<\/b> and <b>Lochness<\/b> both on Via dei Benci being two of the most popular.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Day 2 \u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Climb Il Duomo<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostelworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Florence_attractions.jpg\" class=\"post links\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1296 alignright post links\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hostelworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Florence_attractions.jpg\" alt=\"Florence_attractions\" width=\"175\" height=\"116\" \/><\/a>Visit <b>Il Duomo<\/b>, Florence&#8217;s famous cathedral. After marvelling at its interior, climb to the top of the dome for unforgettable views. Grab lunch and then get in another long queue, this time for <b>Galleria dell&#8217;Accademia<\/b>, home to the world\u2019s most famous sculpture, the<b>Statue of David<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Just before dusk make your way to <b>Piazzale Michelangelo<\/b> for views over the city and a sunset you won\u2019t forget for a while. After the sun sets, have a bite to eat in<b>Osteria Antica Mescita<\/b> on Via San Niccolo before sipping on a few glasses of wine in <b>Fuori Porta<\/b>at the old city walls.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Day 3 \u00a0&#8211;\u00a0The Baptistry<\/h3>\n<p>Start the day in <b>Piazzale della Republica<\/b> before making your way back to Il Duomo, but this time visiting the <b>Baptistry<\/b>, the building which faces it. Here you will find some of the world\u2019s most beautiful mosaics and frescoes. After some lunch visit some of the city\u2019s churches, most of which are free to enter.<\/p>\n<p>Even though it is just footsteps away from Piazza della Signoria, <b>Vini e Vichi Sapori<\/b> on Via dei Magazzini is one of the city\u2019s better value restaurants and perfect for some evening food.
