If you’re hunting for the best Christmas markets in Germany<\/a><\/strong>, the good news is that the best ones sit only a train ride apart, so you don’t have to pick just one.<\/p>\n

The catch is timing. Every market keeps its own calendar. Cologne’s cathedral market opens first, on 16 November 2026, while Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt keeps going until New Year’s Eve. Most of the others shut on 23 or 24 December.<\/p>\n
