The tour takes in all the best sites such as the aforementioned<b>Brandenburg Gate<\/b>, the <b>Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe<\/b> and <b>Checkpoint Charlie<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The tour finishes on <b>Museumsinsel<\/b> (Museum Island) which is affectionately known as \u2018Athens on the (River) Spree\u2019. There are five museums on the island, but only three are open at present \u2013 the<b>Altes Museum<\/b> which has a world-class collection of Egyptian Art, the <b>Altes Nationalgalerie<\/b> which is a must for art lovers and the <b>Pergamonmuseum<\/b> which, with its relics from Ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt, is regarded by many as Berlin\u2019s finest museum.<\/p>\n<p>Finish the day on <b>Oranienburg Str.<\/b> in the <b>Mitte<\/b> district. This is central Berlin\u2019s most vibrant street.<b>Aufsturz<\/b> is an unpretentious bar on the street that attracts many Berliners while <b>Caf\u00e9 Zapata<\/b> is a more unique venue. If you\u2019re in the mood for a big night, meet the <b>bar crawl<\/b> which leaves from the U-Bahn station at 9pm.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Day 2 \u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Visit the Reichstag<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1339 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hostelworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/day2.jpg\" alt=\"day2\" width=\"175\" height=\"116\" \/>Located just two minutes from the Brandenburg Gate, the<b>Reichstag<\/b> is one of Berlin\u2019s \u2018must-dos\u2019. Once inside you take the elevator to the top for breathtaking views over the city from the terrace. From here you enter the <b>glass dome<\/b> and learn all about the building\u2019s turbulent history.<\/p>\n<p>After the Reichstag, get <b>bus #100 to West Berlin<\/b> to <b>West Berlin<\/b>from Unter den Linden. Leaving from <b>Alexanderplatz<\/b>, it goes down Unter den Linden, passing the Reichtag, <b>Tiergarten<\/b>, and <b>Victory Column<\/b> before terminating at <b>Zoo Station<\/b>. West Berlin\u2019s city centre is more for shopaholics than those wanting to sightsee, although the church <b>Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ged\u00e4chtniskirche<\/b> is a harsh reminder of the war and worth checking out.<\/p>\n<p>Take <b>bus #200<\/b> from Zoo station back to the east. This bus passes the <b>Kulturforum<\/b> and <b>Potsdamer Platz<\/b>, Berlin\u2019s answer to Times Square. Finish the day off with something to eat and a few drinks around <b>Boxhanger Str.<\/b> and <b>Simon-Dach Str.<\/b> in the <b>Friedrichshain<\/b> district which is full of bars and restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Day 3 \u00a0&#8211;\u00a0The best preserved section of the Berlin Wall<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1340 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hostelworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/day3.jpg\" alt=\"day3\" width=\"175\" height=\"116\" \/>The <b>East Side Gallery<\/b> in Friedrichshain is the longest and best preserved section of the <b>Berlin Wall<\/b>. If you only see one piece of the infamous wall make it this bit. The best way to get there is by a<b>U-Bahn\/S-Bahn to Warschauer Str.<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Return to the city centre and visit the <b>Sony Center<\/b>, one of Berlin\u2019s most modern and fascinating buildings. There is lots to do there due to its shops, restaurants and cinema. But one of the pastimes in the centre is people-watch in the plaza.<\/p>\n<p>If you are looking for a quieter evening check out some of the bars in <b>Prenzlauer Berg<\/b> district which is just north east of the city centre.
