Our room was damp, dirty and smelled liked an old cellar - so do our clothes now. The sink was leaking so they urned it off, we had to use the public bathroom which was also fuckes up - out of 4 you could only use one. We had a room with a private bathroom but as we were 4 we also used the public ones - the light didn’t work and as we told the owner he said “oh yeah we know”. When we went to check in I was told the booking never came through and they didn’t have my reserved private room, only shared rooms. My boyfriend and I ended up getting an Airbnb last minute at a higher cost after checking with other hostels that were either fully booked or charging $200/night for a private room. I got the impression that they had the opportunity to give our room to someone else for higher cost before we arrived, it’s peak season for the area and we had gotten a good deal
