Welcome to Refugio Ayekan, a place where there’s always room for laughter and enjoyment. Our hostel is located in the heart of Chile Chico, right across from the beautiful Cerro Las Banderas lookout and just 100 meters from the dock that connects Chile Chico with Puerto Ibáñez and other towns around the General Carrera Lake basin.

Refugio Ayekan is a spacious house designed for backpackers and adventurous travelers. We have three shared dormitories with capacity for 10 people in single beds, along with two private rooms with double beds, ideal for those seeking a bit more privacy. Although we can accommodate up to 16 people in closed groups, we usually host no more than 12 guests at a time to ensure a more relaxed and personal experience.

What will you find at Ayekan?

A spacious lounge with a fireplace for those relaxing moments after a day of adventure, plus musical instruments and board games, perfect for sharing laughs with fellow travelers. A fully equipped shared kitchen and a large dining area where you can whip up your meals and share stories. Detailed and relevant info about the area, plus high-speed Wi-Fi so you can plan your next adventure or stay connected with the world. A terrace with views of the lookout and a setting that evokes the local nature. Versatile spaces: whether you’re working while traveling or want to chill in a cozy spot, or if you’re looking to mingle with fellow adventurers in a warm and rustic atmosphere, our refuge is your place!

We’ve designed a space with travelers in mind, especially for those crossing from the Carretera Austral to Route 40 in Argentina and vice versa; adventure lovers coming to explore the beautiful Patagonia Park, embark on nearby treks, or climb Cerro Apidame. It’s also perfect for those interested in sport fishing in the Jeinimeni River. Plus, if you’re into permaculture and sustainability, you’ll find information and resources to learn more about eco-friendly living and bioconstruction here.

Cancellation Policy: 1 days before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
