This place is absolutely beautiful and peacefull. Tina & Mark and their son Adam are lovely people. As soon as you arrive in this place you feel good and at home. The location is great and you don't even think that the city is close by. The house is super clean and decorated with colourfull artwork. The sunrise & sunset are lovely along the river :) Thank you so much people for the hospitality. It is one of my favorite place in South Africa. Thank you & See you around !

One of the most beautiful hostels I stayed in SA. This is a great place to just sit back and relax for the weekend. Maybe read a book by the river, take on of the boats out or take an Uber into PE and get a quick dinner. Its not near the center of PE at all so you will need transportation out of the hostel but its worth it for the chill vibe. The man who ran the hostel even upgraded our group to private rooms because no one else was staying. Great hostel with great hosts.

Really nice setting on the lake. I only stayed one night on my way to the elephant park but could have easily stayed longer. Felt like I was being welcomed into someone's home rather than a backpackers. Had a lovely meal made for a very reasonable price and some great banter around the dinner table.

We stayed at 28 Towpath for 4 nights in one of the nice 4 bed dorms. The hostel has an awesome atmosphere and is such a beautiful place with friendly and chilled people. The terrace is next to the river and you can watch the incredible sunrises. The location is a little bit outside of PE but if you got a car absolutely no problem! I would totally recommend this place. A must do is the visit of Sakumzis art gallery in the town ship! He and his brother doing an incredible work!

Amazing stay at 28 Towpath - great vibes, extremely friendly staff and just the most tranquil and peaceful location! Get Luc and the volunteers to tell you about the art project in the townships, Linda to share some local cuisine and cuddle with the dogs :)

    Fabulous

I stayed for two nights, booked a dorm and got a private room :) It's rather quiet and the location and common areas next to the river are beautiful and perfect to calm down. It's far from PE but a nearby train station connects the hostel once or twice a day with the city. Two very cute jack russels and a cat make your day even more fun. Would come back.

A very nice location with a great waterfront. Friendly staff. Giant rooms in a beautiful house. A bit far from Port Elizabeth though.

    Very Good

    25 Aug 2018
For such a place to pay R400 for 2 guests was actually below my expectations because: 1. Instead of aylist a double bed there were two joined single beds which kept on moving through out the night. 2. The window pane was banging the whole night as the wind was blowing, disturbing my peace in the moment. 3. Decorations were out of sorts inside the room as if it's a kids room. 4. Besides these low key points the place is situated nicely outside the noisy urban areas. 5. The water view is good
