This was a lovely hostel to start my Taiwan trip in. The beds are comfy and the rooms, toilets and common area were all spotlessly clean. There were people using the common space, although it was quite quiet overall. The location is great, just a three minute walk from a central metro station. I would definitely recommend this place!

Ahiruyah was fabulous in every sense of the word. Clean, convenient and cute. With its roots in Japanese style hostels, the bathroom facilities were second to none. Atmosphere lacked somewhat but that really luck of the draw. Staff were smiley, helpful and spoke perfect English.

This was one of my favourite hostels I’ve ever stayed in! The location is super ideal, only 4 min walk to the station that has both the red and orange line, and a 5 min walk to the Liuhe night market which made dinner super easy and yummy! This hostel is super clean, the staff are really friendly, and it has large sunny windows throughout the hostel. The beds are fairly comfortable. The atmosphere is very chill and quiet but I was still able to make friends. I would stay here again! Thank you!

Given that the owners are Japanese, AHIRUYAH does meet the standard of the Japanese hostels which I've visited. Clean, tasteful design, good communal rules, toilets were also relatively spacious and tidy. Staff was also helpful, especially a young lady (I'm sorry I cant remember her name) but I definitely remember how awesome she is when it comes to languages - she speaks Mandarin, Japanese and Korean! Only point of improvement is that there should be a ventilation hole in the shoe cabinet!

Cleanest hostel I have ever stayed in, the staff seemed to be cleaning 24/7! they ask that you swap your outdoor shoes at the entrance for slippers to wear around inside the hostel. Comfy sofas and clean kitchen dining area as well as spotless bathrooms. Really good location too just a few minutes walk from the Formosa metro which connects the two city lines. Only thing that may be an issue for some is this is not really a hostel for meeting people, its very quiet even in the common areas.

Very clean, agreeable and safe place to stay in Kaoshiung. If you don't like a hostel which is noisy and busy, and you need peace and quiet, or you're a laidback person, this hostel ticks all the marks. The shower room is great. Beds have individual curtain for privacy and the common area feels like you're at home. Visitors tend to be Japanese and locals, very few Westerners.

Ahiruyah is a good hostel in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was in the shared male dorm. Each bunk included a power socket, lamp, privacy curtain and a locker. Despite the mattress being rock hard, I was able to get good sleep. There's also a large kitchen as well as 2 communal bathrooms - one for women, the other for men. There's also a TV area and a balcony. One great feature is that towels were free. The location is also really good. Definitely recommended.

Nice little hostel, very clean, staff friendly. Atmosphere was strange, as no one spoke to anyone and it was always really quiet! Good if you want to just chill by yourself but not recommend if you want to meet other backpackers etc..
