Property Description

The Abbey Court, part of 'Dublin's Best Hostels', is famous for its excellent location, brilliant facilities, warm atmosphere, friendly staff and competitive prices. The hostel has been operating successfully since its establishment in 1999, and continues to see thousands of satisfied guests coming and going year after year.

With en-suite dormitories ranging from four to twenty-four beds, the Abbey Court is known for its excellent group catering facilities. Rates include bed linen, as well as free towels for guests staying in single and twin rooms. Despite our central location, guests are still assured of a comfortable and peaceful night's sleep, allowing for a full and busy day ahead.

Check out our list of free stuff for all guests: all-you-can-eat breakfast, luggage storage on arrival, laptop and passport storage, lockers in the dorm rooms (bring your own lock!), Wi-Fi and Internet, maps and city guides, a self-catering kitchen, and best of all, free guided walking tour of the city every morning. We also run an infamous nightly pub crawl.

We've got hot water, power showers and extra showers and toilets on each floor, plus laundry facilities and a smoking area. We have 24 hour reception so there's no lockout or curfew. There's also 24 hour snacks and drinks and our lounge, games room and TV room are open all the time.

Located just off Dublin's famous O'Connell Bridge, we are the most centrally located hostel in the city. Temple Bar, Ireland's famous cultural corner and nightlife spot is a two-minute walk away and can be seen from the front windows. We're just minutes from all the major places of interest and shopping areas including Dublin Castle, Christchurch Cathedral, Trinity College, the Guinness Storehouse, Grafton Street and Stephens Green. Also within walking distance are the tram stop, the DART station and many bus routes that will take you to more scenic areas outside of Dublin including Howth, Dun Laoghaire, Bray and Dalkey, plus the main sporting and concert arenas.

Our fun and friendly staff are on hand 24 hours to give advice and recommendations on the best restaurants, pubs, shopping areas and tourist attractions, and also to point you in the right direction of all the hidden gems you wouldn't discover otherwise.

We at the Abbey Court are 100% committed to ensuring your stay is as comfortable and fun as possible, and will do everything we can to make this happen. Stay with us and let us help you enjoy everything this colorful and vibrant city has to offer. View House Rules

Overview

Here at Abbey Court, we're a friendly bunch. We've got lovely staff, free-all-you-can-eat breakfasts and we're centrally located with culture on our doorstep. It's easy to check in and tick the must-see sites off your list with our daily free guided walking tour. Travelling solo? Tag onto the nightly pub crawl for socialising (and a shot or two). For downtime, head to the games room and TV room – open 24 hours.

Location

We're super easy to find: the airport bus drops you seconds from our door at O’Connell Street. Pint o'clock? Just head across the road to the pubs of Temple Bar, or hop on a bus to the Guinness Storehouse – 20 minutes away – and pull your own pint on the tour. Indulge your inner photographer with an arty picture of our colourful building, and a shot of the iconic Ha' Penny Bridge, just a three-minute stroll away. Dublin done? The main train station is over the river to take you to bays like Howth and Bray.

Rooms and Dorms

Free bedding and power showers in the en-suites are just a couple of perks you’ll find in our mixed and female-only dorms. Keep your belongings secure in the under-bed lockers, which are big enough for a standard backpack (just remember to bring a padlock). Travelling as a twosome? Check into a double or twin room and get your own bathroom – we'll provide the towels so you can pack light!

Extras and activities

Our 24-hour reception means there’s no curfew – so you can stay at Copper Face Jacks club till the lights come on. Handy extras include an ATM at our front door, free Wi-Fi (so you can Facetime from your bunk) and free tour maps. On a budget? Chill in our games room with a game of darts or foosball. Our kitchen has loads of cooking stations so make a bowl of pasta and save those euros for the pub crawl.

They have shampoo dispensers in the showers, breakfast was great, they have a hammock room and it’s in a beautiful location. Also it’s comparatively cheap (although the price of everywhere on Saturdays is steeper)

A group of us stayed here during a Six Nations match weekend (Ireland v Wales), therefore it was extremely busy. Nevertheless, the staff were very happy to help and accomodated all requests. The all you can eat breakfast was ideal, and the location was perfect, very central in Dublin. Would highly recomend to a group whom are on a budget as you get a good value for money

A nice choice for your stay in Dublin! Aofie was very welcoming when we first arrived. Yasmin was also amazing as she helped me book a day trip and a pub crawl. The staff and location are the best part of this hostel. The 32 person dorm is decent, but bring an air freshener as it smells pretty bad when at capacity. The bus stop for the airport shuttle is literally right outside the door of the hostel which was so convenient! The showers only have one temp though which got boiling hot at times.

One of the best hostels in Dublin. Really clean (to my mind, they should just come more frequently into the room to check the bad smells). It's also very roomy and there is a nice spot for you and your friends to watch a movie! The most part of the staff is really friendly. The breakfast is good (if there were some 3 different juices, it could be perfect).

The Staff were super nice but there were crumbs in the bed and we never ate in them... and they were super uncomfortable. It’s cute but worn out, much more so then other hostels we stayed in.

Great location! Couldn’t have asked for much better. There are no communal areas and so when in big groups, you have to congregate elsewhere and when solo, it’s hard to meet people. When showering use solo showers as they are 10X better than the communal showers. Location is why it is overall positive.

    Very Good

I stayed in the twelve bed mixed dorm for four nights. It was well-located, provided a great breakfast and had other basic necessities. The room was a bit small as whenever one person pulled out their metal cage, the walkway was blocked. Also no food is allowed in the rooms but the kitchen is only open 7:00-22:00, so early risers cannot get their food. Some of my food was also taken. I was a bit scared on the last night as a group of seven or eight loud, drunk men came back after midnight.

Great location and shower. Comfy bed. Shame that it hasn’t been cleaned or dusted probably since it was opened. The floors in the bedroom were covered in huge clumps of grey dust and fluff and there was food on the floor of the hammock room on day one that was still there on day four.. loved the hammocks though.
