Property Description

The Abbey Court, part of 'Dublin's Best Hostels', is famous for its excellent location, brilliant facilities, warm atmosphere, friendly staff and competitive prices. The hostel has been operating successfully since its establishment in 1999, and continues to see thousands of satisfied guests coming and going year after year.

With en-suite dormitories ranging from four to twenty-four beds, the Abbey Court is known for its excellent group catering facilities. Rates include bed linen, as well as free towels for guests staying in single and twin rooms. Despite our central location, guests are still assured of a comfortable and peaceful night's sleep, allowing for a full and busy day ahead.

Check out our list of free stuff for all guests: all-you-can-eat breakfast, luggage storage on arrival, laptop and passport storage, lockers in the dorm rooms (bring your own lock!), Wi-Fi and Internet, maps and city guides, a self-catering kitchen, and best of all, free guided walking tour of the city every morning. We also run an infamous nightly pub crawl.

We've got hot water, power showers and extra showers and toilets on each floor, plus laundry facilities and a smoking area. We have 24 hour reception so there's no lockout or curfew. There's also 24 hour snacks and drinks and our lounge, games room and TV room are open all the time.

Located just off Dublin's famous O'Connell Bridge, we are the most centrally located hostel in the city. Temple Bar, Ireland's famous cultural corner and nightlife spot is a two-minute walk away and can be seen from the front windows. We're just minutes from all the major places of interest and shopping areas including Dublin Castle, Christchurch Cathedral, Trinity College, the Guinness Storehouse, Grafton Street and Stephens Green. Also within walking distance are the tram stop, the DART station and many bus routes that will take you to more scenic areas outside of Dublin including Howth, Dun Laoghaire, Bray and Dalkey, plus the main sporting and concert arenas.

Our fun and friendly staff are on hand 24 hours to give advice and recommendations on the best restaurants, pubs, shopping areas and tourist attractions, and also to point you in the right direction of all the hidden gems you wouldn't discover otherwise.

We at the Abbey Court are 100% committed to ensuring your stay is as comfortable and fun as possible, and will do everything we can to make this happen. Stay with us and let us help you enjoy everything this colorful and vibrant city has to offer. View House Rules

Overview

Here at Abbey Court, we're a friendly bunch. We've got lovely staff, free-all-you-can-eat breakfasts and we're centrally located with culture on our doorstep. It's easy to check in and tick the must-see sites off your list with our daily free guided walking tour. Travelling solo? Tag onto the nightly pub crawl for socialising (and a shot or two). For downtime, head to the games room and TV room – open 24 hours.

Location

We're super easy to find: the airport bus drops you seconds from our door at O’Connell Street. Pint o'clock? Just head across the road to the pubs of Temple Bar, or hop on a bus to the Guinness Storehouse – 20 minutes away – and pull your own pint on the tour. Indulge your inner photographer with an arty picture of our colourful building, and a shot of the iconic Ha' Penny Bridge, just a three-minute stroll away. Dublin done? The main train station is over the river to take you to bays like Howth and Bray.

Rooms and Dorms

Free bedding and power showers in the en-suites are just a couple of perks you’ll find in our mixed and female-only dorms. Keep your belongings secure in the under-bed lockers, which are big enough for a standard backpack (just remember to bring a padlock). Travelling as a twosome? Check into a double or twin room and get your own bathroom – we'll provide the towels so you can pack light!

Extras and activities

Our 24-hour reception means there’s no curfew – so you can stay at Copper Face Jacks club till the lights come on. Handy extras include an ATM at our front door, free Wi-Fi (so you can Facetime from your bunk) and free tour maps. On a budget? Chill in our games room with a game of darts or foosball. Our kitchen has loads of cooking stations so make a bowl of pasta and save those euros for the pub crawl.

From filling up your water bottle to printing out boarding passes and offering suggestions for fun things to do in the city, the staff here are incredibly helpful! The facilities are also cleaned regularly and there are quite a few communal areas where you can relax, work, or meet new people. I highly recommend this place!

Great relaxed place, and fantastic location. Does the basic stuff you'd want from a hostel really well, with a bunch of extras you can use. Also went on a guided pub crawl they offer, which was a brilliant night meeting some absolute characters

Awesome hostel! It is spacious, clean and beautiful. It is very big, so you can find quiet spots as much as company. Many bathrooms, good breakfast in the morning and very friendly staff. It is very close to many bars. LOVELY!

The location was perfect right by transportation if wanted to use the DART to visit other places. Breakfast was fantastic and consisted of coffee, a variety of cereals, bread, pancakes, fruit, and even a meat and cheese platter. The atmosphere was fantastic very lively and there were people of all ages. Rooms did get a little stuffy at night with there being so many people in a one room with little windows, however, I would definitely love to stay again here.

Overall the location is great, right in the middle of all the tourist action. The girls at the front desk were super helpful in getting yours booked and any other information asked. The downside was that we stayed at one of the 6 dorm rooms and upon arrival it was extremely stinky. The room was also narrow and and small, making it difficult to get your bag out. From underneath.

An excellent hostel that services many many people. I'm sure it is difficult to manage. The stay was awesome and the location was amazing right in the heart of things. It just as a bit overused and all common areas were crowded... That might appeal to some :)

Centrally located, but some of the rooms are facing right onto the street so it gets very loud at night. Also, the building is huge and kind of a maze, so it takes some effort to find your way around. Otherwise, no major issues!

Staff was rude when I was trying to check in. Dude with long mangy brown hair. Spoke so quietly I couldn’t hear and then rolled his eyes when I had to ask him to repeat himself. They try to nickel and dime you with every single thing: need a towel? That’s 3 euros. Ear plugs? One Euro. Lock because they don’t have lockers that lock? 6 euros. Other hostels I’ve stayed in have all these things complimentary.
