With everything from hummus-making sessions to Friday Shabbat dinners, we'll introduce you to Israel's rich culture here at Abraham Hostel Jerusalem. You'll also have other activities to choose from – think open mic night, yoga classes and pub quizzes, as well as pub crawls and barbecues. Our communal spaces are your go-to spots for chilling, whether you want to settle in a hammock in the lounge, sip a pint at the bar or catch the sun on the rooftop terrace. And of course, there's free breakfast and free Wi-Fi.

We're in Jerusalem's city centre, a 30-minute walk from the mystical Old City, where you can visit ancient sites like the Western Wall or the Dome of the Rock. The trip from Ben Gurion Airport takes about an hour or more on public transport, or you can grab a faster shared shuttle. If Jerusalem's your first stop in the Middle East, check out our tours: we'll take you to destinations ranging from the Dead Sea to Petra, the Jordanian city carved from rock.

Rooms and Dorms

We have private rooms to share if you're travelling with a crew and mixed, male- or female-only dorms for those flying solo (linen and towels included). There's air con to keep you comfy and an elevator so you can save your legs for sightseeing! You'll also get a locker to keep your backpack secure while you're touring.

Extras and activities

We have in-depth knowledge of our city (the history is fascinating!)– and we'll help you experience it to the fullest on our daily free city tour. Come chat to us in our travel centre when you're not concentrating on being a pool or foosball champ in the games area. We also have a kitchen so you can perfect your falafel-making skills, and a TV room for some quiet time. If you're carrying valuables with you, just ask to use our safe.

Staff were incredible and very friendly. They let us leave our luggage in a secure spot and hang out in the lounge before check in time which was much appreciated. Clean and good value.

Amazing location and Hostel experience. The rooms and beds were nice. The showers and bathrooms were clean. The free breakfast and many events that they have in the downstairs and rooftop lounge were awesome. They also have the Abraham travel agency right in the lobby, which made it very easy to book events and ask for recs in the area.

Great hostel. The best feature was the events desk where Abraham Hostels had a lot of incredible day trips on offer, which were all brilliant. Highly recommend the Hebron Dual Narratives tour. The rest of the hostel is nice. It is very large so you’ll rarely see the same people twice so if you’re solo travelling and want to meet people it might not be perfect, but is still a great option. Great location.

Honestly one of the best hostels I've been to. My stay there was perfect, there is a great free breakfast and so many events organized by the hostel, that you can come totally unprepared to Jerusalem (aka me)! Only the location is a 10-15 Min. walk to the old city, but then again the walk is nice and the hostel is just around the corner from Mahane Yehuda Market. I'd definitely come back!

Delicious breakfast, great staff who is always willing to help or make recommendations, the room needed a sweeping but in a female dorm hair is to be expected. The bed was nice and comfy.

I would say this is just a good average hostel. If you're interested on guided tours, they have a really broad offer. Don't hesitate to take the Hebron Dual Narrative tour (even if guided tours are not you're thing)

Abraham Hostel is probably the most well-known, and there are a lot of good reasons for that. Har a good stay here. Just so you know, it is so big that it almost makes it harder to meet people. In regular-sized hostels, you sort of familiarize yourself with everyone and it makes it easy to chat with just about everyone. Abraham is so massive that it starts to adopt a hotel vibe instead of the classic hostel vibe. They have great tours - do the Hebron Duel Narrative Tour!
