Overview

At Abraham's Hostel we're proud to have a big group of fans, with returning guests saying that they wouldn't stay anywhere else in Dublin! We're in the city centre (and, more importantly, just a 15-minute walk from traditional pub heaven Temple Bar). You'll get a warm welcome from our friendly staff, and the shared kitchen and common room are perfect for meeting other travellers. What's more, we'll give you a continental breakfast, a daily walking tour and nightly pub crawls – all totally free!

Location

Getting here from Dublin Airport is easy. The 747 Airport Express only takes 21 minutes and stops outside. Although we're based on a quiet street, it only takes 5 minutes to reach the most buzzing parts of the city. Grafton Street – Dublin's shopping area – is less than 20 minutes' walk away. As well as high street and designer shops, there are plenty of restaurants and bars. If you're after a real Irish night out, cross the river to Temple Bar – where the sound of live music spills out across the cobbled streets.

Rooms and Dorms

Choose from a good mix of different sized private rooms and dorms, including mixed and female-only dorms. Stay in a private room and you'll get some wardrobe space and free towels. You'll have an en-suite bathroom in all our rooms – including the dorms – luxury! Linen's included, and you can borrow hairdryers.

Extras and activities

We've got plenty of freebies for our guests – including earplugs for you light sleepers, storage lockers and Wi-Fi in every room. Our sociable common area has a free book exchange as well as plenty of board games for nights in. If you need help planning your days out in Dublin, our staff are always happy to chat you through their favourite places to visit and the best ways to get there.

I loved how spacious the rooms were! I had plenty of room to reorganize my things and didn't feel like I was in the way of anyone else. The facility seemed very update-to-date. It felt new and clean. The cages under the bed worked well for storage and were very quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is a airport bus stop right in front of the hostel which was very convenient! My only complaint was the number of stairs, but overall great place!

Pretty good place and within a 30 min walk from everything major to see and do. The bus stop just outside the door goes to the airport which is a big plus.

Great hostel in Dublin: beds are comfortable, it is clean, has a good breakfast included, staff is nice. Location is relatively good, it is about 15-20 mins from all of the attractions but very well connected to airport (bus stops crossing the street) and train station.

    Fabulous

Like the location, staff on the most part were friendly and helpful. However I think that the Friday evening and morning they were a bit slack on checking out the kitchen area. It's very clean in general, but the layout doesn't allow much space for food preparation or washed dishes and dishes that others leave unwashed. I would have liked to see a bit of effort from the Friday evening Saturday morning staff in making sure that the kitchen was in order, especially as it was quite. The only issue.

The location is great, a couple of meters from the shopping street. It was clean as well. The WiFi works great pretty much anywhere in the hostel. But then the facilities... I probably came at a bad timing but to have no heating in Januari? It was cold in the dorm. (heating worked everywhere except in the dorm.) Taking a shower in the dorm was also not possible since the warm water didn't work. We were offered to shower in another dorm 1 floor below. (why not move us to that dorm?)

This is not an accessible hostel. 6 sets of steps to the top floor. I reserved a 12 bed online but when I called they said they had be down for a 10-if I didn't bring my confirmation they wouldn't have believed me. THe man checking in in front of us had an issue and when he left the girl at the front desk vocally complained about him in front of other people checking in. Overall if you just need a place to stay for few nights in a good location-i recommend but don't looks for any extras.

Kitchen facilities are not enough for the amount of passengers (and considering my visit was on low demand period, I can imagine how it must be on high season). Plugs in the bed never worked. The building is old so it makes people's steps to sound loudly all over the room. Staff is somewhat nice (highly depends on who is serving). Nice location.

Abrahams Hostel says

A lot of people stay here because we've got a great location on direct airport bus routes beside the main train (Connolly), bus (Busaras), suburban rail and tram stations. We're in a beautiful, historic Georgian building with the friendliest welcome in Dublin. We get a great mix of all ages staying here - backpackers, school and university groups, families and couples - and to keep everyone entertained we have a pub crawl from our hostel every evening, a free walking tour every morning and free DVDs/games, plus fresh fruit and eggs at breakfast. We're close to O'Connell St/GPO (0.4 km), Temple Bar (1.2 km), Trinity College (1.2 km) and The O2 (1.3 km), but I tell people they should definitely visit the Guinness Brewery and Kilmainham Gaol.
