You must stay here, it’s a little paradise. Stejarisu is a beautiful village in the hills with little paths you can wander along to your heart’s content. The food at the restaurant is all local, fresh and delicious. We got the opportunity to visit the local shepherds and see how they make cheese. Julius is a kind and friendly host and his team is excellent. I learned so much about rural living in Romania. It is definitely a highlight of my trip so far.

This place is a GEM and so worth the detour to get there! (I bussed to Agnita and hitched- super easy). Booked two nights and ended up staying four. The breakfast spread was delicious, as was all the rest of the food, the room was beautiful, the nature was fabulous. Got to visit the local shepard and get a cheese demo, and to top it off the locals, staff, Julian, and guests were all fantastic. Loved every minute of it- highly recommend. Not to be missed!

Agramonia was an absolute delight! Julius has created an atmosphere that is inviting and stimulating. He offered tours of the 500 year old fortified church and we hiked into the hills to meet shepherds and learn about cheesemaking. The food served as Agramonia was local and delicious and affordable. We enjoyed meeting the other travelers and hanging out in the public spaces outdoors. Staying here was the highlight of our time in Romania.

My stay at Agramonia was magical. The village and the entire area surrounding it create an environment that is very healing and peaceful. The hospitality and food were great and the fortified church, truly spectacular. I recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, fresh and unique getaway :)

This is an amazing spot for an authentic feel of country living in Romania. If you plan on going during cold months be prepared to maintain the fire in the furnace overnight for warmth even thou they have thick blankets. Dinner has a great selection of traditional foods and the majority of the food is locally sourced. The drive out from Sibiu is pretty nice. Note that this is a remote spot and it takes about 1-1.5hrs to get there from Sibiu. Will definitely stay again!

This is a lovely hostel/restaurant/farm deep in The Transylvanian countryside. It’s accessible by car (hitching or roadtrip), but I took a bus to Agnita, where Julius picked me up. He is a very interesting guy who made me feel really welcome and I could see the passion he had for his job and the local community. There’s good food and beautiful countryside. To meet people, I think you need to stay longer, but if you just want to relax or work in the countryside, it is perfect. Thank you :)
