Close to everything. Staff were extra friendly and ran the hostel very well. As an older traveller I was made to feel really welcome here, and met a great crowd of fellow traveller's, sharing our stories over a 10,000kip large beer. Nice quiet, social hostel, and cheap, cant ask for more than that on your travels.

Great hostel. While the amenities are not as modern as they could be and the a/c could be stronger, the atmosphere is great, exactly what you want from a hostel. social and quiet at night too.

you’re not far from the food walking street market. On the last day there was a big confusion about me paying, it took the staff about 20 minutes to find out if id paid on the first day. Otherwise a fine hostel

    Fabulous

This hostel is well located relative to mount Phousi, the river and the night markets. The hostel isn’t very social but that could in part be because Luang Prabang is more laid back than your standard backpacker town. The staff were very friendly but their level of English wasn’t high so their was a lot of confusion after booking a bus through the hostel to vang vieng when the bus just didn’t arrive and the reasons were never really explained, they still got us another one though. Good value!

    Very Good

Standard hostel, clean sheets, small locker, free breakfast. No atmosphere and not overly friendly staff (not unfriendly however). Decent location, in walking distance of night markets and Main Street. For backpackers it’s pretty good for the price, you could stay somewhere nicer for just a few bucks more however. Would stay again in a pinch.

    Good

I booked a 6 bed ensuite female dorm through Hostel World. This hostel has neither ensuite nor female dorms. The rooms are airy and look clean. Curtains also help. Showers are large and warm. However there is no area to relax, the breakfast was free but really not nice at all. The staff speak very little English which is frustrating especially when they try to ineffectually serve everyone at once. This was a very very basic hostel I have booked somewhere else on my return trip to Luang Prabang.

After turning on the AC didn’t really do much for several hours. The doors had no locks and anyone could’ve walked into the rooms. We had a girl in our mixed dorm who had booked a female only dorm - this apparently does not matter here. She was telling us about issues she had with a guy who spent the night in there before and made her feel uncomfortable and unsafe.

Very raw, basic hostel that has the basics, but make sure you take your earplugs to drown out the dozens of roosters on the back side of the building

Don't stay here if you can help it. Here they have 2 traditional bathrooms and 2 single toilets and 2 single showers. Traditional bathrooms were fine but the single toilets/showers were dirty and extremely stinky. Also the doors on the single toilets/showers didn't lock. They have lockers for RENT however the key is the same for all lockers and the lockers were SMALL so you had no way to protect your belongings unless you stayed in the room. Staff wasn't welcoming and breakfast was HORRIBLE.
