Property Description

Àite Cruinnichidh is a warm, comfortable, friendly country hostel in converted barn, set in stunning mountainous surroundings 15 miles north east of Fort William and 2 miles from Roy Bridge. As we live on site, this is also a very safe hostel to stay at.
COVID 19 July 2020. This has led to changes in how we will be running the hostel. We are planning to re-open the hostel on the 15th July with reduced numbers and a minimum two night stay. Initially we will have four rooms available to book, giving each room sole use of one WC/shower room.A maximum of 12 guests.Booking by room discriminates against the single traveller which we do not want to do.Please contact the hostel if you wish to book a single bed. Every guest to have their own mask ,ready to be worn in communal areas.Once we receive a booking ,an email will be sent with more information about measures which have been put in place to minimise the risks from Covid 19. Full payment will be taken 7 days prior to arrival. We will not be offering a pick up or drop off service to Roy Bridge for those travelling by bus or train meantime.

It is an ideal location for walking, climbing, canoeing and mountain biking. There are 7 rivers for paddling within 20 miles of Àite Cruinnichidh. Extensive cycle routes are also nearby. We can advise you on walking and cycle routes with maps available.

All bedding is included. Please do not bring sleeping bags. There will be a £20 charge for any sleeping bags used to cover additional washing. We also have an excellent self catering kitchen and drying room for all your wet clothes, tents etc.
We have a large garden for outdoor games or just to relax in.

If travelling from Glasgow it is possible to get off at Roy Bridge, before Fort William.
We can lock up your gear if required. Outdoor activities such as Quad biking, canoeing, rafting, paint ball etc can be organised locally.
Unfortunately we cannot organise the weather!

Excellent Hostel. Good facilities, good hospitality, good location. In the interest of improvement only, wifi was available in the lounge and if wifi could be extended to the kitchen this would be even better.

Good facilities specially the drying room which helped a lot after a rainy day. They had enough space to park multiple cars. Friendly hosts, had a good stay.

This was a wonderful hostel to stay at near Ft William. Everything was great. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathrooms were clean and showers all worked well with great hot water, the rooms were comfortable and clean with the beds made for us in advance. The equipment drying room was a lifesaver. We didn’t use the sauna but it would have been great after a cold rainy hike. There are no lockers, but the rooms lock and the owners are always around and keep a close eye on things.

After a long days motorcycle ride up from Staffordshire the Hostel was a welcome stop off to Adventure into the Cairngorms & Isles of Skye the following day. Everything was as I anticipated, quiet natures setting, cosy bedroom hot shower. Good drying room. Would use again & recommend. Big thumbs up.

For the price, you really can’t go wrong with this place. Perfect for an alternative to staying in Fort Williams as it is only a short drive.

On a chilly and very wet day we really appreciated having the radiator on in the common room, where we were able to access WiFi to further plan our trip, although as expressed by the manager the internet was slow.
