What Lonely Planet, latest edition, (2011) says about us :
**************************************
This brand-new 21-room inn facing the Parque de los Niños is less a hostel than a full-blown hotel equipped with a smattering of dormitory rooms. An interior atrium is draped in plants and a 4th floor bean bag lounge offers a prime opportunity to sip beers while watching the planes take off at the international airport in the distance.

Dormitories are wonderfully uncluttered ( only four people to a room ) and each come with their own bathroom , while the private rooms are graceful, decorated in serene earth tones and equipped with cable TV and double-pane windows.

More expensive junior suites have plasma TV and comfy king-sized bed.
Plus there is wi-fi all over the hotel .

We are the author's choice as the best budget option in Alajuela for plenty of reasons, but just to put it in a few words : We know what you want and that is : good , cheap and great money value and that is what we have waiting for you so book now !!

Important note: We have to check credit card info first in order to guarantee booking. If there is any issue we will contact you in order to get right credit card details View House Rules

    Superb

The hotel and room were very nice and accommodating. I was impressed with how cute the room was and clean the bathroom was. The bed and pillow were very comfortable as well. The air conditioner did not seem to work however, and I could not leave the window open due to the noise of the traffic. Otherwise, I liked the room very much and enjoyed my stay.

    Fabulous

Proximity to the airport is the biggest plus for this hostel, I've never stayed here except for flying in/out of the country. There is a nice rooftop bar, and a great Mexican restaurant called Jalapenos within walking distance. I've stayed in both dorms and privates and always felt safe and in a clean space. If you're staying several days, I'm not sure how much there is to do nearby, but as a transitory hostel, it's perfect.

    Fabulous

This is a great spot if you have a very early/late flight. But all it is is a spot to crash for one night there is no social vibes. The staff were incredibly helpful in arranging a free shuttle that fit my flight. They also helped me sort out a few other issues. Super easy to get to/from the airport and on the local but into San Jose. They had lockers at reception but they were tiny so couldn’t fit much in them.

    Fabulous

Great place to land between flying in or out of San Jose. The free airport shuttle was super convenient with the hostel being 10-15 mins away. The mild pitfalls for me were that it was cash only payment, no real lockers/ security for your belongings and there was no soap or towels but no deal breakers. I easily rented a towel for $1 at the front desk. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. The patio on floor 2 was a great place to get fresh air and people watch.

    Very Good

    25 Jun 2019
This a great hostel if you are coming from or going to the airport. There's not much atmosphere, but the free shuttle to and from the airport is really convenient. The hostel feels very safe, as there is a doorman 24 hours, and you need a key card to enter each individual dorm. However, there weren't lockers in the dorm rooms to lock up your things in. The dorm and attached bathroom seemed clean, and the beds were pretty comfortable. The biggest benefit was the proximity to the airport.

Pros: If you need a bed close to the airport - this is the place for you. They are about a 5/10 minute drive away and offer a free shuttle during the day. Cons: it lacks any atmosphere. It is a transit hostel where you don’t really stay more than a night.

Worst hostel experience ever. The shuttle never showed. When I called to check on it, the guy said he’d call the driver & never called back. So I called & he said it wasn’t working but didn’t know how to contact me? You have my booking info... This took over an hr & still had to take a cab. I finally arrived & asked for lunch options & was given 1. The AC was not working in my room; he said it doesn’t come on until 630? Totally apathetic front desk staff. I left & booked a hotel. Not worth it.

This hostel was built for one sole purpose: as a quick accommodation for people coming into or leaving the country. As such, it lacks almost everything that would make for a decent hostel-experience. The greeting at the reception is cold, there's nothing worth calling a common area and the rooms are built for no more than to sleep a couple of hours (no lockers). Additionally, this place makes quite a business off people in need for a first/last place to sleep and charges double the normal price.

The room wasn't clean. The curtains didn't work, letting everybody look inside the room. The front desk was listening too loud to music so we couldn't sleep. As indicated, you are here only because of the airport.
