Excellent place! The owners and the staff are absolutely fantastic! They also organise the tours and the trekking in Chapada da Diamantina which makes everything easier when you don’t have the time to search or research about it. The owners and the staff speak English and are very helpful. They provide us with good tips about the place.

I loved my stay at Albuerge de Lencois Backpackers. It shines with a cosy atmosphere. Everyone is welcomed with open arms. The front desk is very helpful in recommending trips to the chapada.

The Hostel is very nice and comfortable. I was there with a group of friends so didn’t really need to meet a lot of new people. If I would have been alone, maybe it would have been a bit lonely, as there are no evening activities going on to meet other guests (there are tours during the day though). I felt like the guests were focussind on their own things , but not in a bad way!! If you want some quiet and relaxing time in lencois this is the hostel for you!

We had a private room with a fan and it was fine. Breakfast is good. The kitchen got a bit dirty but the best thing about this place was all the information Thomas had to offer about the area and the tours he arranges. Would recommend some of the not so common hikes if you want to avoid all the tourists.

The hostel itself was nice, but quiet while we were there. We arrived in Lençois in the morning, but could already check into the room and have a little sleep. The owner gave us some information about the tours they offer. We did the Pati Valley trek (3 days) and it was super nice! The food was incredibly good, the gide knew a lot about the area and the overall organisation was good. I would definitely recommend booking a tour here (they’re one of the cheapest also), despite not staying her

It's dirt cheap because they want to lure you in so that they can sell you treks. I also got some laundry done which came back wet, and visibly dirty and smelly. The guy on reception said "Yes it does not smell good... but it does not smell bad." For context, the laundry cost more than the dorm... Overall, disappointing, look elsewhere.

I think this is one of the better hostels in Chapada. Great to plan our chapada trek through them and they let me borrow a trekking backpack. First night had a private room and noticed sheets were dirty. I tried to request new sheets, happy to change them myself. The woman working insisted they were clean and that it was just stuff that fell from the ceiling. Nail clippings don’t fall from the ceilings. Toilets don’t flush well and it’s SO hot, no AC, very difficult to sleep in dorm.

There was a problem with the water and only one bathroom was working the entire facility. It was hard to tell who worked there, I got no tour and a scoff when I asked where drinking water was. The owner was nice and helpful but the rest of the staff was not great. They ran out of towels and pillow covers. A staff member told us we would be switching rooms, w/o us asking, and the owner told us normally we would be charged for it (we didn't end up getting charged). Seemed unorganized.
