There's also the coolest restaurants and bars all just a stone's throw away. Breakfast is included in the price of your stay, as is the WiFi and laundry service. Even local phone calls won't cost you any extra. The kitchen is huge with three refrigerators, so you won't struggle with storage space. Property Description

For 17 years, we've been building a real hostel that fulfill backpackers needs : Without big publicity, people choose us because they are looking for a hostel experience. We are proud to say that we are not a hotel or a bar. Night life in Montreal is fantastic. We don't need a bar in the permis. Your beer will be cheaper if you buy it at the convenience store. We go out every night anyway ...come with us.
On the contrary, our common room is a big industriel loft furnished with recycled furniture. For us this gives a homy style and makes people comfortable. Look at the pictures and read the description before booking. Look also at our review number (2700). This is our success reward and your best guaranty.

We think a hostel in Montreal should offer a vibrant style that surprises but with comfortable and good prices.

Value for money: very good.
Security: dorm lock with magnetic key and lockers in each room.
Location: Easy, 5 streets from bus station also a stop for airport shuttle. Free parking on street possible.
Activities everyday.
Facility: large kitchen with 5 fridges, roof terrace and a relax lounge in basement open 24 hours .

Save money - cook your own meal and buy your own beer . There is convenience stores near the hostel.

We're very proud of our new ensuite dorms (with bathroom); Those rooms have air conditioning and are the nicest in the building. According to our user-pay principal, if you wish more services choose the most expensive dorm.
We also offer no-frills dorm with a shared bathroom (gym style) for cheap cheap price. Only for laid-back people on lower budget.
Give us a try. If you don't like it we will give you back your money.

Our private double room is much like sharing an apartment; this room shares a living room, kitchen and bathroom with just one other room.

Our rooms are lit by natural light! You are on holiday. You don't want to stay in a basement...

Everything is around us: the arts and entertainment district, the financial district, Old Montreal, the Latin quarter, McGill campus, and Chinatown. The hip restaurants, bars and shops are within walking distance. We're also near the bus station and metro... save on bus passes and taxis! Several grocery stores/markets are in our area as well.

The staff here know the city very well and will ensure that you get the most out of Montreal without breaking the bank while seeing things that might not be in any guide books!

Alone or with a group or family we have a room or apartment for those on an economic budget.

Important Information:
- We do not accept residents of the Montreal region and suburbs and ask for a credit card (exception: new immigrants).
- Kids are not allowed in the dorms.

    Superb

Coming to the Alexandrie-Montréal was a great experience, on my first night everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful and we had a great time with the organised activities, all the proceeding days were also just as good going to events with the hostel and having an awesome time. Aside from this the free breakfast and free washing/drying machines was a great benefit and overall my experience at this hostel was amazing to say the least. 10/10 would come back here in a heartbeat

I’d never been to Montreal, nor stayed at a hostel before. What a glorious first impression! The staff was super friendly, giving me maps and even talking through / marking routes for me for their recommendations. Thanks especially for the poutine place they recommended - superb food! My room was quiet, the mattress nice and firm, checking in and out was super simple, and a friendly free breakfast saw me out. I’ll definitely return for a longer stay next time.

It was a great place to stay - easy to be social but also spend alone time without disturbance. The longer area is really relaxing! Everyone is very respectful and inclusive. Being able to do laundry for free was tops Breakfast was quality and always a pot of coffee on! The bathrooms are far from the rooms so plan your toilet times.

    Fabulous

Overall it was okay for a last minute trip. It was exactly what I needed a bed to sleep in and place to relax in between. I was rarely there in the late morning and afternoon I spent most of my time exploring the city. That being said it was clean and I felt secure for a solo traveler. WiFi was not the best. It did look unfinished and it was hard to know who worked there and who didn’t. The hostel workers where very nice, but I felt there a bit unorganized.

Overall good experience for the price. The dorm room itself was nice with nice bunk beds that provided privacy. The bathroom was very far from the room (four flights of stairs) but there were more expensive rooms available with bathrooms attached. Some streets around the hostel can feel a little sketchy at night for a girl walking alone so take that into consideration when making plans. (And that coming from someone who has lived in Montreal) Overall good value for price, pretty clean, central.

Great location with super friendly staff who are always willing to talk and plan daily activities. It seemed to be going through some renovations when I was there, which affected my score above. But it'll no doubt be better in a year or so when all the work gets done as it looks like they're working on some expansions. Rooms are clean and the location offers locks to use if you don't have any.

    Very Good

    12 Sep 2019
Great atmosphere, great staff, however the hostel is like a labyrinth, only communal toilets (only two for entire hostel isn't enough) are on the basement floor (annoying if you're on the top third floor), the 18 bed room does not look very hygienic, also rules about noise at night should be enforced better, the atmosphere made it worth it though but would recommend facilities improvement and better kitchen hygiene

    Good

Probably the most sketchy hostel I've ever stayed at. Reason being: my room, the kitchen, the bathrooms all seemed to be under construction. Nails, screws and power tools everywhere. A few holes in the wall with loose wires. A total mess and health hazard. HOWEVER... the pros were: rooms were secure, staff were pretty helpful, bed was good, no noise in my room. I would stay here again in future if money was an issue (it was cheap so you get what you pay for).

Really didn’t enjoy it here. The hostel was out of the way and super run down. The dorm was filthy, no charging point near the top bunk, water pressure was a trickle in a dirty old bathroom. Really nothing good to say except the staff were nice enough.
