Angel is a great host. Best part is that you can schedule trips through him at the front desk, which makes the entire trip seamless. The bedrooms and bathrooms are also always clean. The hostel is about 15minute walk from the Plaza de Armas where most of the “tourist” things are but it’s super easy to walk to and from.

Had a little bit of a f**k up with the laundry being late. Would recommend doing laundry somewhere else if you're in a hurry. The beds are pretty uncomfortable, and there's a problem with some of the top bunks (you're 20 cms from the ceiling). But it's cheap, so it is what it is, and you can't expect much. Just know that it feels like how much you're paying. Breakfast is good and the shared spaces are nice for this amount of money.

A quiet hostel run by a very nice couple. Beds were warm and showers were hot. Breakfast was really great. Luggage storage area is not locked so lock your valuables in the lockers upstairs if you go on a trek. The door was essentially unlocked during the day (you could easily reach in through an open panel to press the button to open the door) but the area seemed safe. It is a 10 min walk to all the restaurants and ATMs in town and you have to cross a very busy road wth no crosswalk or signal.

    Very Good

While the staff was amiable, they seemed timid anout interacting. They promote preprogrammed tours, but not helpful with out-of-the-ordinary requests. The place smelled like a sewer every night unless I closed the bathroom door and cracked a window. I had plenty of blankrts to keep warm however. A group of respectful schoolgirls came for two of the nights I was there. All bedrooms are on the 2nd floor and above.
