It's Scandi-bright and the friendly staff at our reception are on 24-hour duty to welcome you, so there’s no need to worry about late flights or delayed trains. If you're bringing your own ride, you can leave it safely in our large parking garage. Once you’ve offloaded your bags in one of the secure lockers or dedicated luggage room, grab a free city map and strike out to explore. Though you might prefer to ease into things with a drink in the lobby bar (we’ve got our priorities straight).

I came on the 8th March and was supposed to check out on the 22nd March. I had come to Oslo to do work experience at Maaemo kitchen. Due to the sudden outbreak of corona virus, the restaurant was closed. I had to cut my visit to Oslo short and depart back to my home country of England. I notified the receptionist, but I was informed that I could not get a refund on the 7 days which I could not stay in the hostel due to circumstances out of my control. I find this to be unfair.

My friends and I (1 girl and 2 guys in total) stayed in this hostel for a weekend. At first we were very skeptical with all the reviews about what seemed to be a dangerous area full of drug addicts and whatnot but we still went through with our reservation. Every single thing the negative reviews talked about was wrong. The druggies, criminals, rapers or whatever these people mentioned were nowhere to be found. The people in the reception were nice and helpful. The facilities were alright.

nice hostel for a good price. the only thing that I didn't like is that the kitchens are inside the rooms... And you also have to go every time to reception to take the things to cook.

We had a 6-person room just for us 2 so there was lots of space. There was a small kitchen in the room which was useful. Very clean hostel and helpful staff. Fridge in the room wasn't very cool and we wish there had been a mirror in the room.

The staff was very nice and the room was spacious. The only thing we didn't like was that the walls are quite thin and you could hear very clearly whenever someone opened the door to the hallway. It was so loud that it made it seem as if someone was trying to open the door to our room which made us feel a bit unsafe in the beginning. I also emailed the hostel to see if we could check in earlier than 1500 but I didn't receive an answer so we had to go to the hostel and ask them ourselves.

    Very Good

    14 Feb 2020
Anker was a good hostel. you had to pay for sheets and towels and you had a kitchen in your room so there weren’t a ton of ways to meet people. the only thing that i didn’t like was that the area was SUPER sketchy—like the only sketchy part in oslo. they were doing construction on the main road and lots of drug deals and people on drugs would hang out on this road so walking at night or in the morning was very sketchy.

The hostel itself was modern and clean. People who left previous reviews weren’t kidding saying that there were a lot of drug addicts nearby. You can go a different route or the other side of the street and avoid them, they don’t bother you. Bit weird you have to rent linens but I brought my own. Mattresses good but bed frames lacking. Go to the hotel next door for a proper breakfast. Also lads - please remember to shower and put away your dirty clothes, you stink.
