You'll find Anker Apartment in a quiet spot just a short walk from Oslo's city centre. You get tons of space to relax in our common area, the favourite spot for meeting other travellers. There's an on-site bar here too, so you can start your pre-game with some Norwegian ciders before hitting the town. Or check out our enormous rooftop for an uninterrupted birds-eye view of the city.

To reach us from Oslo airport, take the F1 bus to Københavngata, 150m from Anker Apartment. From Oslo Central Station, hop on bus 30 towards Nydalen and get off five stops later. We’re right in the city's trendiest district, Grünerløkka. Home to the city’s art scene, the area is packed with independent galleries, edgy bars and music venues. Staying for the weekend? Head to Birkelunden park for the vintage market on Sunday. Then with a free city map from the hostel in hand, head to the city centre – it's a 30-minute bus ride from Dælenenga (a 2-minute walk from the hostel).

Rooms and Dorms

Get your bags to your dorm room easily with our elevator, then stash them in your personal security locker. If dorms aren’t your style, we have privates too – choose from a single, twin or family room. These all come with their own kitchenettes, so you can have your morning muesli whipped up and ready to go. Fresh linen and towels can be rented at reception.

Extras and activities

We love to help you save euros, so we've made shared kitchens for dorm-dwellers to use. It's super convenient to cook at home, too, what with a mini supermarket just downstairs. We've also got vending machines for odd-hour snacks. There's free Wi-Fi to help you plan your trip to the fjords, and if you need a little guidance, our reception is manned 24/7. If you got here by car, leave your ride with us for free in our underground car park.

A nice hostel away from the busy city center but right by some fun eateries and bars. Easily accessible with the transportation. The rooms are big and clean with personal kitchens that are slightly hard to use, so would recommend using the guest kitchen if you are in the apartments versus the dorms. Found the staff extremely helpful, just wish the facilities were easier to use.

Anker Apartments are pretty easy to access using public transport. I wish the top bunks had railings on both sides of the bed as I was afraid I would roll of all night. More plug in would also we an improvement. The lobby had lots of space to hang out, play Foosball and chat. It was a moderately comfortable place to stay.

Very clean hostel. Close enough to most attractions and easy to find from airport via bus. Overall vibe was a bit dull, very big and spacious hostel. You have to rent the equipment for the kitchen for max 3hours so be prepared to either give a form of ID OR 100kr deposit while you're using it. Stayed in 30 bed dorm only down side to that was people no bed lamps and people snoring

As advertised clean, good transportation options nearby, a market literally attached, and the staff is terrific. The only option available during my stay was a large mixed dorm with about 30 beds. Bedding and towel were an additional one-time fee, as well as a fee for use of laundry facilities. Security was good as your key card access not only controlled access to sleep areas, but also each individual dorm. Although not the most aesthetically pleasing, there are plenty of washrooms.

It’s mostly clean and nice, worth the money. You don’t need to pay for linen, but the hair dryer doesn’t work well there

    Very Good

The place was pretty clean, a good value for the money but as a women traveling alone I felt very uncomfortable. It seemed like 90% of the guests where older men. I would leave my all dorm to walk to the female bathroom and there would always be a few guys standing right there. It was just very uncomfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen was quite clean but the beds were a bit gross. No bugs of anything like that thank god but the mattress I was on had dried boogers stuck to it.

I had to ask multiple times for toilet tissue to be replaced in my room. I also asked if the bathroom could be cleaned and that never happened. The staff were helpful but detached and not friendly. I also felt uncomfortable with the people that were always hanging out outside the hostel entrance that were not hostel guests. They were clearly alcoholics or drug addicts. As a solo woman traveler, I felt unsafe.

Only 20 lockers for the whole building in reception area and a common storage room totally unsafe and not secured... The bathroom was not clean daily. Linen and towels too expensive, for that price they should be included...

Bed sheets not included in price of accommodation which is ridiculous. No lockers in the dorms, which can have up to 30 people. Location was a bit far from everything. Staff were fine but atmosphere of the place was not great.

Solo female travelers: DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOSTEL FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!!! I stayed 3 nights, the first one they made a mistake and assigned me to a 20 beds room instead of the 4 beds room I booked. As an excuse they assigned me to a single room the second night, but at 2 am the security guy knocked twice on my door and then proceeded to open the door without my consent!!!! In the most rude manner he told me I should not be in that room that I should go downstairs. That was really scary!!!
