You'll find Anker Apartment in a quiet spot just a short walk from Oslo's city centre. You get tons of space to relax in our common area, the favourite spot for meeting other travellers. There's an on-site bar here too, so you can start your pre-game with some Norwegian ciders before hitting the town. Or check out our enormous rooftop for an uninterrupted birds-eye view of the city.

To reach us from Oslo airport, take the F1 bus to Københavngata, 150m from Anker Apartment. From Oslo Central Station, hop on bus 30 towards Nydalen and get off five stops later. We’re right in the city's trendiest district, Grünerløkka. Home to the city’s art scene, the area is packed with independent galleries, edgy bars and music venues. Staying for the weekend? Head to Birkelunden park for the vintage market on Sunday. Then with a free city map from the hostel in hand, head to the city centre – it's a 30-minute bus ride from Dælenenga (a 2-minute walk from the hostel).

Rooms and Dorms

Get your bags to your dorm room easily with our elevator, then stash them in your personal security locker. If dorms aren’t your style, we have privates too – choose from a single, twin or family room. These all come with their own kitchenettes, so you can have your morning muesli whipped up and ready to go. Fresh linen and towels can be rented at reception.

Extras and activities

We love to help you save euros, so we've made shared kitchens for dorm-dwellers to use. It's super convenient to cook at home, too, what with a mini supermarket just downstairs. We've also got vending machines for odd-hour snacks. There's free Wi-Fi to help you plan your trip to the fjords, and if you need a little guidance, our reception is manned 24/7. If you got here by car, leave your ride with us for free in our underground car park.

It's a huge place, and a well run one. The closest thing I have to s complaint is that it lacked the warmth of smaller places. Of course, I was only there 2 days, and that is not enough time to know a place well. I would stay again

Nice place to stay in, not super close to the center but ten minutes by tram or bus are fine. Staff was nice, sometimes a little slow. One plate of our kitchen stove didn’t work but it was repaired until the next day. Rooms are big and in good shape!

Pros - clean and good sized room, room has attached bathroom and own kitchen, supermarket on site. Not too far out of city (30 min walk or less than 10 mins with the tram) Cons - lacks a good common area to meet fellow travellers. Bit annoying to have to rent out kitchen supplies. Worst part was the stairs to the top bunk (painful to climb)

    Very Good

A decent stay. There were not enough lockers for every bunk, so I ended up just sleeping with my bag. The location is a 30 minute walk to downtown, but not bad. Facilities were clean and the staff was helpful. Atmosphere isn’t anything special, but there is a super market right next door which is convenient.

I’ve stayed in 50+ hostels and this was probably my least favorite. The bathrooms were filthy. Didn’t seem like they had been cleaned. Was more of a student dorm than a hostel. Atmosphere was ok, no published activities or tours. Felt odd having to rent the linens for the bed, or you could use your own? I’ve never had to do that anywhere I stayed. It’s always been the opposite. Linens come included, can’t use your own. Stay here out of necessity, not desire.

I can't say it was a great hostel but also it was not bad. I like the kitchen facility, you can grab some food from market next to the hostel rent kitchen equipments for free and make your own dinner. Also lobby is quite enough to relax and read a book. It is not that far from city center, quite walkable but if you are staying more than one day, distance starts to become a problem. Also there is not big lockers for luggages so staying in a dorm for 20 people felt less secure.

It looks more like a hospital than a hostel. I was in a room with 20 beds. Atmosphere is 0. There is nothing that makes it welcoming or easy to meet people.

I know it's Norway and that everything is expensive etc. But for the price we paid to sleep in a thirty bed dorm I would expect better. The price of the bedsheets (mandatory unless you bring your own, sleeping bag not allowed) was not shown. There is nowhere to hang out except the lobby. The room had two plugs for all thirty people to share. The lobby had a couple more. By far the worst hostel I've stayed at anywhere, more so if I consider the price :(
