Overview

You'll find Anker Apartment in a quiet spot just a short walk from Oslo's city centre. You get tons of space to relax in our common area, the favourite spot for meeting other travellers. There's an on-site bar here too, so you can start your pre-game with some Norwegian ciders before hitting the town. Or check out our enormous rooftop for an uninterrupted birds-eye view of the city.

Location

To reach us from Oslo airport, take the F1 bus to Københavngata, 150m from Anker Apartment. From Oslo Central Station, hop on bus 30 towards Nydalen and get off five stops later. We’re right in the city's trendiest district, Grünerløkka. Home to the city’s art scene, the area is packed with independent galleries, edgy bars and music venues. Staying for the weekend? Head to Birkelunden park for the vintage market on Sunday. Then with a free city map from the hostel in hand, head to the city centre – it's a 30-minute bus ride from Dælenenga (a 2-minute walk from the hostel).

Rooms and Dorms

Get your bags to your dorm room easily with our elevator, then stash them in your personal security locker. If dorms aren’t your style, we have privates too – choose from a single, twin or family room. These all come with their own kitchenettes, so you can have your morning muesli whipped up and ready to go. Fresh linen and towels can be rented at reception.

Extras and activities

We love to help you save euros, so we've made shared kitchens for dorm-dwellers to use. It's super convenient to cook at home, too, what with a mini supermarket just downstairs. We've also got vending machines for odd-hour snacks. There's free Wi-Fi to help you plan your trip to the fjords, and if you need a little guidance, our reception is manned 24/7. If you got here by car, leave your ride with us for free in our underground car park.

    Superb

The apartment was clean due to maintenance and management of linens and towels. It was also very spacious so we felt comfortable. Security is enforced by key cards in every section of the building. The staff was kind enough to let us use their fridge for the food we brought with us. The only issue is that it's a little far from the city center (around 20 minutes).

Good arrangements with Kitchen and other common areas...Not so happening place but value for money for budget trip...little bit far from the city centre, though walkable (Around 25 minutes). Not a kind of typical hostel where many young people are enjoying and chilling.

It is more like university dorm than a hostel but the room is clean and big. It is worth money in Norway.

    Fabulous

It feels a bit more like a university dorm than a hostel but it’s really clean, good, comfy beds and has everything you need. The reception staff was also really helpful and knowledgeable. Don’t expect the usual welcoming things of a hostel but I’d stay there again. It’s about a 30 minute walk to the city centre but lots of cute restaurants and things on the way.

    Fabulous

Fine, but kitchen too hot and two stupid fussball tables in the common area which cause a l o t of noise, and it can be used day and night(!). Disastrous decision by the owners - the guests do not care about respecting fellow travellers due to this "wonderful rule"!

    Very Good

    02 Feb 2020
Pros: Big kitchen with fridges and stand for storing food, few clutters though. Enough bathrooms and showers. It's a quiet place so, for resting is pretty good. Cons: There aren't big lockers for backpacks. Only few security boxes on the ground floor. Conclusion: It's a nice place to stay a couple of days.

    Good

The staff was always helpful and kind! They were the best part of the hostel by far! The dorm was otherwise a little uncomfortable because of the guests, and the linens were not supper clean. The guests in our mixed dorm were slightly older men that argued and fought multiple times, making me and my friend fairly uncomfortable. It really isn't the hostel's fault. I would recommend the hostel, but would suggest staying in either a female only dorm (if you are a female) or a smaller room.

on top of the price shown when we got there they charged us a rental fee for the sheets! This is false advertising as we base our decision on price too, then the site price is different from the real price. They should include the sheet price on the site price, and only if somebody brings their own sheets (which will be almost nobody) then they should give that person the discount equal to the rental fee. and not the other way around. I felt tricked and deceived. The sheet price is not shown
