I stayed in a private room with a friend of mine, and it was so nice to have the option to have the benefits of a hostel, but also enjoy a private room and a kitchenette! I especially loved being able to cook in my own space instead of eating out so much. The location is a 20 minute walk to the city center, but it’s a straight shot and close to many public transportation options. The staff is really nice and helpful. The rooms are clean. I’d definitely stay there again

It has to be said first and foremost that this hostel is in extremely expensive Scandinavia, so a wide swath of people stay here for the value (families, your groups, and a large age range). This is a fine place to stay and explore the city but don’t expect the kind of fun, social atmosphere you’ll find at other hostels. Still, I don’t hold this against them, and you know this from all the reviews.

Great place to hang out and meet people, very central, nice view from rooftop terrace, rooms have their own kitchenette, but you have to check out anything to use. I wasn't expecting to have to pay for sheets.

Anker was one of the more expensive hostel stays I’ve ever had. It was a bit off putting. HOWEVER, everything else was near perfect. The staff was professional, pleasant and helpful. The facilities were spotlessly clean. The location was, being so central, very convenient for travel and exploration. Would highly recommend to any other travelers in the area.

Really convenient central location and easy to find. Staff very friendly. Downsides were no lockers at all in the room, an en-suite 8 bed had only one toilet in essentially a ‘wet room’ to shower. Really not practical and not enough for 8 to share. Only kitchen facilities are in bedroom, I personally didn’t like this, and you have to pay to hire any cooking equipment like cutlery! No reading light and no power point near bed. Would stay again, but simply only because the location is great.

The staff were amazing who went out of their way to help you enjoy Norway. The hostel is not far from the town centre (easily walkable). This is the first hostel that I have ever stayed at where you have to rent your bedding (not included in the price of the room). Side note: sleeping bags are banned, essentially forcing you to rent the bedding. Also there is literally no storage in the rooms. You have to put your bag at the side of your bed and just hope nobody steals.

We have to pay more for using the bed sheets (linen) that did not informed before when we booked. There is no personal locker. There is no personal electricity for each bed.
