Anne Hostel Asakusabashi is the first hostel in Tokyo to serve a free breakfast, which includes boiled eggs, toast and hot drinks each day. Warm up in our common room with traditional floor seating and under-table heaters while looking through our range of travel guides and maps to plan your onward journey. You can use the guest computers on each floor for free, or jump onto our complimentary Wi-Fi in the lounge and rooms. Store valuables and luggage in our free lockers – we'll lend you a padlock if you need one.

Just a 5-minute walk from both JR and Toei Asakusabashi stations, you’ll be bartering with the tuna sellers at Tsukiji Fish Market or spotting street art in the Harajuku district within half an hour of leaving the hostel. Narita Airport is just over an hour away by public transport, while Haneda Airport is 30 minutes away. If you’re travelling by Shinkansen bullet train, you’ll need to first get to Tokyo Station, which is 15 minutes away by JR and metro.

Rooms and Dorms

Choose from Western-style dorms with bunk beds or traditional Japanese rooms with futon beds and tatami mat flooring. Dorms come female or male-only, as well as mixed, so you’ll be able to find your ideal set-up. The beds all have individual reading lights, power plugs and curtains for your privacy. Each floor has a shared bathroom, which comes with high-tech Japanese toilets (also known as Washlets), as well as free soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Extras and activities

Drinking a beer from a Japanese vending machine is often on guests' to-do lists, and luckily we have vending machines on hand to help! Grab some dinner in our communal kitchen while you decide what to do tonight – perhaps karaoke at a bar nearby? Or rifle through our selection of board games and see if you can find someone to teach you how to play mahjong. You can also catch up on laundry and ironing with our coin-operated facilities.

Myself and 3 friends booked a private 4 bed dorm for 5 nights. We had a wonderful stay. The facilities were very clean, fully comprehensive and had a homely feel. The beds were comfy, we had enough room and the blackout curtains were a bonus. The staff were very helpful and there is loads of information about everything you could want do in Tokyo. The free breakfast also made the price very reasonable. We were also able to leave our bags after checkout, which was handy. 10/10 would stay again.

Best hostel for socializing excluding party. Breakfast included in the lounge with Horigotatsu does make meeting to people inevitable.

Has everything one could ask for. The location is very quiet while still not far from famous places like Akhabara. And free breakfast which makes the price worthwhile

Our stay at Anne Hostel was great. The hostel is not too big, with a very cosy and laidback atmosphere. The staff was so friendly and always ready to help and give good tips on what to do/see in Tokyo. They also even arranged a "Gyoza party" where we were taught how to make gyoza and hung out with the staff and other guests. The hostel has everything you need, including washing machine and a light breakfast. It's also located close to the metro station. Overall a great place to stay!

A nice hostel in a great location. All areas were very clean and well maintained. The free breakfast was good. Staff were helpful. The hostel has a lot of very useful travel advice. The main problem with this place is noise - there are large gaps under the doors to the rooms. We stayed in a twin room which it's worth noting consists of a bunk bed. There are no lockers in these rooms and on two of three days we returned to find the room had been left unlocked by cleaners.

Would definitely book if in the Asakusa area. Walking distance to Senso Ji temple and the Nakamise shopping street. Really close to subway station. Clean, spacious rooms with comfortable bed and air conditioning. Lots of showers and bathrooms. Kitchen upstairs with vending machines and common room. Went to a gyoza making party hosted by hostel and had a blast meeting other guests and staff of varying ages and nationalities. Great atmosphere for a solo traveler.

The hostel is very clean and they have an elevator. They provide free shampoo, body wash, drinking water and breakfast. Their beds have curtains for privacy. With regards to the location, it is walking distance to the subway, while 7-eleven is a bit far.

Location is great in that it’s right next to an important train station that has two metro lines and two JR lines. Immediately area is ok but close to Asakusa. Staff were very nice and the place was very clean. I took a futon reservation and had a huge room to myself for five days so I recommend that [ with a little luck ;) ] only bad thing was their laundry is pretty bad. There’s a laundromat on the same block though and probably costs the same to use.

This hostel is really nice! The free breakfast is definitely a plus. They have bread that you can toast and eggs, tea. It's is only a 6 minute walk from the Asakusabashi Station on the Asakusa Line. The only thing downside is that, at least during my stay, the atmosphere at the hostel - the sense of community - wasn't really there. People went to bed early and woke up really early. When I went to breakfast, people didn't talk to each other or socialized in their groups. A bit awkward.

Showers and bathrooms are too small but on the other hand we really appreciated the kindness of the staff that helped us a lot during our stay.
