Take on Tokyo from Anne Hostel Yokozuna – a friendly, well-connected hub in Ryōgoku, aka 'Sumo Town'. We've got an elevator to help you with those heavy bags when you arrive and storage lockers to keep your stuff safe. After a long day of adventuring, soak in our hot tub, get your game on with our Wii or PlayStation in the common room or just sit back and take in Tokyo by night from the rooftop terrace. Want to try out your Japanese cooking skills? The communal kitchen is the spot for sharing food and stories.

It's about an hour from Haneda Airport to the hostel. Catch the Keikyū Kūkō metro line to Asakusabashi then take the Chūō-Sōbu line to Ryōgoku, a three-minute stroll from the hostel. Ryōgoku is a handy metro line, whizzing you to the Buddhist temples of Asakusa, museums and parks of Ueno or the tech-lover's paradise, Akihabara, in under ten minutes. In Ryōgoku itself, foodies can sample Edo cuisine at the Ryōgoku Edo NOREN food and shopping complex and art lovers should wander around the Sumida Hokusai Museum, dedicated to ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai, just a 5-minute walk away.

Rooms and Dorms

Choose between female-only, male-only or mixed dorms or treat yourself to a private room. We have spacious beds with individual lights and curtains, ideal for relaxing with a book or updating your social media (the free Wi-Fi's nice and fast). All rooms and shared bathrooms are nice and clean, to help you feel at home!

Extras and activities

We'll give you free shampoo and conditioner for that well-deserved post-travel shower, as well as free tea and coffee round the clock. Tokyo can get pretty hot in summer, so all our rooms have air con. And smooth out those creases in your shirts with a hired iron and ironing board (we also hire out chargers and adaptors). Want to experience some real Japanese culture? We'll organise for you to see sumos training (be warned – they start early!).

Really enjoyed our stay here, perfect location next to the train station however we could hear the trains going past so if you're a light sleeper may be something to consider. Otherwise would definitely recommend staying here!

Amazing hostel, very friendly staff, always clean, close to two train staitions and lots of good testaurants near the hostel. Mostly recommends the place beacuse of the good atmosphere and environment. Very nice kitchen you can seat and eat with you're friends and free computers for personal use. I stayed 7 days here in January. The location is amazing (it's by a train station as the description says, but I personally wasn't very bothered by this, the train sounds rocked me to sleep). The room and bathroom are amazingly clean, the staff is super nice and speak really good English. The location is amazing, Ryogoku is on the central train line and the area is full of nice places to eat and stores. It tends to get crowded at peak hours. The Edo-Tokyo Museum is 5 minutes away on foot.

Pretty sweet lounge area with tons of pamphlets, maps, suggestions for tourists. Honestly very solid facilités with a nice kitchen. Fun social space. Took us 3 attempts to fully dry our clothes but that could’ve been due to the size of our load. Staff were pretty helpful. Overall great experience

Really enjoyed my stay!! Perfectly close located to metro station Big kitchen and lounge area to meet other travellers Although the beds were rather hard, because of the typically Japanese thin mattress, I didn't have any troubles sleeping I would prefer an automatic lock on the doors. Because you had to lock with key, I found the door open several times, but lockers are available for laptop & other things The only remark are the hairs on the bathroom floor. That could have been cleaner.

Amazing. Snowboard luggage lost for 5 days and they helped with locating and stressing the airline to look harder. Pretty amazing. The staff is wonderful and quite knowledgeable of all of Japan!

    Very Good

    05 Dec 2019
We were at Anne hostel for 5 nights in the private room. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Heating worked great. The location was perfect right next to the subway. My problem with the hostel was nobody changed the garbage in our room for 5 days. On our floor there was 4 dorm rooms with one other private room plus us. This was a-lot of people for only 2 toilets and 3 showers for everyone on the floor. It happened a a lot that you walked in and all the showers were in use in the morning.

    Very Good

The hostel has a really cool location, you wont have any issue. The building is kind of old as well as the amenities. They have lots of rules, laundry is expensive, everything costs money, and the staff is not that cool. The place is just okay, you can find better places for the same budget. We didn’t have a bad experience, is just that we’ve found really incredible hostels in other parts of Japan and this one was not one of them.
