Overview

Apple Hostels of Philadelphia is the place to be if you want to hang out, meet new people and get some awesome freebies! Thursday nights kick off with free drinks, followed by a pub crawl around some of Philadelphia's coolest night spots. We also serve free beer four nights of the week. We've got a pool table for showing off your best moves with a cue, and a piano for those who love a good bit of a music. If that's a bit retro for you, there's also an Xbox One that's free to use.

Location

We're 40 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport by public transport, and you'll find us in the heart of the old city. Our hostel is right beside all the main attractions – we're just 7 minutes' walk from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall – so you can have a culture fix when you're not getting involved in our social events. You'll find plenty of places to sample the famous cheesesteaks on Market Street, just a 2-minute walk from us.

Rooms and Dorms

We've got male-only, female-only and mixed dorms, so you can choose whichever you're most comfortable with. We also have private rooms, including two family-sized options that are perfect for groups of up to four people – you don't need to be a family to reserve them. You'll get free linen for your beds and access to your own private locker whatever you go for.

Extras and activities

Loaf around our large lounge and you're bound to make some brand new buddies. Want some help breaking the ice? We throw events every day of the week. Get sophisticated on Saturdays with our wine and cheese evenings, or learn the spooky side of the city's history on our Monday and Friday ghost tours. Our social areas are hard to beat, with a welcoming lounge room fully stocked with board games, books and (of course) free Wi-Fi.

Very conveniently located near independence hall/liberty bell, and several cheesesteak restaurants. About 1-2miles from the rocky steps. Staff was friendly and attentive. I stayed on a Monday and they had free beer and a haunted walking tour for $5. Everything was tip top but I stayed in the 18 person dorm and some snoring fellas made it hard to sleep so bring ear plugs or headphones. They did have some ear plugs at reception but I was already in bed and didn’t want to get up lol

Great price, great location and great layout. Clean restrooms and kitchen. My only complaint is that there is no elevator for getting up to the third floor. Not good for bad joints and heavy bags.

    Very Good

So regarding cleanliness it was questionable just for my preference. The floor didn't seem to be cleaned as there was hair balls and lint. You have to consider it isn't a hotel. Besides that I had an amazing time. The location is great and centrally located around a lot of tourist attractions. The staff was awesome. The ghost tour was fun and just the people that were staying was a blast. I'd like it a little cleaner but wouldn't be against staying again.

No social atmosphere. Uncomfortable mattresses. Pub crawl leader sat in the corner on her phone then told us we were the worst group cuz she lost half of us. Had an issue with a roommate at 4am- I went to the front desk, no one was there for 15 minutes/had no way to contact them, though the person eventually resolved it. Despite quiet hours advertised as 11-7, I was woken up at 5am by the front desk staff being obnoxiously loud. Out of the 30+ hostels I’ve stayed in, this was by far the worst.
