The people working reception did an amazing job of booking all the transportation and activities for me. I saved a lot of money booking through them instead of online. Would highly recommend.

I forgot to reserve the room a day earlier and when we arrived, there were no rooms. Jose at the front desk arranged for us to stay somewhere else for the night. We stayed at the hostel for two nights and had a great time. Jose was very helpful with all of our questions and concerns. We recommend Arenal Container Hostel because the tour companies pick you up and drop you off at your hostel, the location and especially the help of Jose!! Thanks Mate my daughter and I are very grateful!!!

The hostel is great and would definitely recommend it. The staff is super friendly, the location is perfect, right in the center of the city and it is possible to book all the activities and transportation in the hostel. There is free coffee and really good food at the restaurant next door. Overall experience was amazing, even though we didn’t have luck with the weather :)

This was my first time staying in a hostel and I'm glad I chose Arenal Container Hostel. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were able to make great recommendations for things to do and see in La Fortuna, and when I changed my mind about an activity I booked through them, making the adjustment was easy. The vibe is laid back and I appreciate the 4-person all female dorm option. I definitely recommend to future travelers.

Pretty clean and comfortable has a good location. The five person room was way too small, no room to even put your bag down so wouldn’t recommend. Due to the room being so tiny it did make it super easy to meet people. The staff were really nice and knowledgeable about the town, had a lot of tour recommendations (but make sure to shop around). Great for the budget travellers and I had a nice stay!

The layout of the outdoor area is really nice. There’s a hammock and plenty of places to sit. The kitchen is very very small, but the utensils and pots and pans etc are all very new and clean. The rooms themselves are tiny - almost every time I opened the door I hit someone standing behind it. Having said that, the beds are comfy, there are security lockers, the staff are very friendly and it’s very clean!

Awesome little hostel if you are in La Fortuna. The rooms don't have huge lockers but they do have a box per bed that can lock if you bring a padlock for your most important belongings. The room is kind of small but it isn't too bad. My only complaint would be that the top bunk doesn't have any railings so it is kind of sketchy to sleep on. Thank you to the staff who answered all of my questions! I definitely recommend this hostel.

Great place for the price. All air conditioned rooms with an ensuite in every room. The location is right in the middle of La Fortuna and a short drive from everything to do at Arenal. Only has about 8 rooms so book fast if you're interested.

Nice enough base for exploration but the communal areas were quite small, looked into a carpark, and lacked enough comfortable seating options, which wasn't so ideal for hanging out in the day when rain and clouds put a stop to our planned activities. Nothing to do with the hostel but be aware there's not much free to do here except the hot springs, especially if volcano is cloudy.

Really excellent and helpful staff, but I found the accommodations to be relatively overpriced given the lack of cleanliness. The rooms smelled like mold and the bathrooms (though cleaned every day) were disgusting -- our drain was clogged and flooded the bathroom every time anyone showered. Much cleaner hostels for half the price are located within a block's walk.
