Overview

Here at Art Hole Hostel, we’re a sociable bunch. That’s why we have two huge living rooms for travellers to meet each other and we serve up a big home-cooked veggie meal (for just 4 euros) every night of the week. Solo backpackers can get to know us and other visitors on our free city tour, after a free breakfast in our Pop Art-dedicated lounge. Can't get enough of Andy Warhol? Use our free Wi-Fi to post photo after photo.

Location

We’re a 4-minute wander away from the nightlife and architecture of Prague Old Town Square, so you can drop off your bag and head out straight away. From the airport, take bus 119 from terminal 1, change at Nádraží Veleslavín for tram 26. Get off at Dlouhá třída and we’re just around the corner. From the main train station, we're a 16-minute walk through Vrchlického park, and from Praha Florenc bus station, you can reach us in 10 minutes on foot. From us, it's a 20-minute walk to Charles Bridge and 30 minutes to the 9th-century Prague Castle.

Rooms and Dorms

Need a towel or travel adaptor? Rent them from reception for a few euros when you check in. We've got both mixed and female-only dorms, and you’ll find under-bed lockers in both, to keep your backpack and belongings safe and sound. And linen is free, so you can save space in your luggage for something more exciting than a bed sheet.

Extras and activities

Travelling on a budget? We have two communal kitchens for you to cook up lunch or dinner in – grab something from our herb garden to flavour your pasta. After-lunch coffee? Drink outside on our terrace before you head out. For a fly-by tour or Prague’s greatest sights, rent a bike from the front desk and check them off with your free city map. Our reception staff are on hand 24/7 to suggest the best pubs or to print your boarding pass.

This place is stellar among hostels. The bathrooms are really clean, the people staying were low key crowd and I made some friends over family dinner. Free breakfast. WiFi is great. I loved this place.

It was a great hostel for the value of the money. The staff (Navoo?) Was very helpful and gave good tips about things to do and eat. The breakfast is basic as expected. I'd recommend it to a budget traveler for sure.

I really enjoyed my stay at Art Hole. The vibe is really great— relaxed yet social. It’s a great place to hang after a long day of travel or exploring. The staff is really helpful and kind and will help make your stay in Prague top notch. The front door has secure access, but the door to the dorm room was never locked. I put my valuables in my security locker, so it wasn’t a big deal. The location is top notch! Walking distance to Old Town and a quick tram ride to Malá Strana.

    Fabulous

Great location and good value for the price. However, the nightly veggie dinners were not as nightly as advertised. For my three night stay, there was a sing posted claiming "the chef needs a break, dinner will return tomorrow night, possibly". So one of the things I was most looking forward to here wasn't even available! Regardless of this, my stay was a good experience. The hostel was a quiet, and calm place to relax after a long day in the city. A great budget option in central Prague.

    Very Good

Staff were lovely and so were the rooms. We were on the higher floor which had no atmosphere whatsoever. It is a very old building so expect staircases to be dusty and amenities like bathrooms and kitchens to be older. Really disliked the fact that the toilets and showers were not enclosed so you could hear/smell everything happening in the next toilet/shower. They have lovely cheap services like cooked dinners, beers, washing machine/dryer. Would stay again now that I know what to expect.

This hostel was good if you just wanted somewhere to chill out. There wasn't much of an atmosphere in the common area or kitchen, just people chilling out. The staff are very helpful and know a lot about the place. The free breakfast was great. The kitchen area was always very clean. The location was good, about 5 minutes away from most bars and sights.

Many glowing reviews on the website but I did not get what I expected during my stay. Washrooms were crammed and dingy with low walls that were not very private and my 'security locker' could barely fit my backpack compared to others who received full-sized containers for their luggage at no extra cost. There are two floors to the Hostel, perhaps the main floor is more social but nobody seemed to interact on the second floor. Good value for price but a bit exaggerated on the website.

This is your basic accommodation for those not wishing to pay too much for a place to rest your head. The walls are paper thin so you can hear a lot of people if they talk in the room next to yours or in communal areas. Breakfast is included which included bread coffee cereal and yoghurt. The bathrooms have mould in the ceiling which is gross. Hostel is cheap and cheerful. Don’t think I would stay again as it’s not that central (15mins to old town) and not very clean.
