Hostelworld says

Ashfield House is in the very centre of Dublin, between Trinity College and O'Connell St. Our visitors have said this 'excellent location' makes the hostel a 'very handy little place to crash after a night in Temple Bar'. This 'perfect home away from home' has 'friendly and helpful' staff who 'go out of their way' to help, plus free luggage storage, a 'delicious and filling' breakfast and an ''eat me I'm free' cabinet' in the kitchen. We like their daily walking tours of Dublin.

I have zero complaints about Ashfield. The staff was very friendly and helpful, everything was within walking distance, and the rooms were clean. We had an amazing experience.

Awesome location/WiFi (even in the stairs), amazing staff (helped me with everything, always in a good vibe, they offer you to leave the luggage after check-out). Was apprehensive about the noise, but the train (that was mentioned in reviews) didn’t disturb, silence time respected. Mattress sunk a bit. Complete and comfortable kitchen. Breakfast: granola, 2 yogurt, 3 cereal, milk, coffee, chocolate powder, 3 juice, tea, 2 bread, butter and strawberry jelly. Great music! Thanks for everything! :D

It was really nice and cute place to accommodate. it is really located in the central location. Moreover, it is definitely worth of money. I highly suggested you to stay here if you are planning to accommodate in Dublin. By the way, the breakfast was really nice, and satisfactory.

After having to find a place last minute we found Ashfield. The location was great, few minute walk from Temple Bar and bus stops. Staff were amazing, friendly & knowledgeable! Good breakfast. Only small complaint was that the room we stayed in didn’t seem like it had been swept in a while. Overall I would recommend & stay there again!!

When it comes to cleanliness, there was chewing gum stuck to the bed, and the 14 day rule makes me feel unwelcome in the hostel, they should implement a system to allocate beds, I am going to avoid their hostel

    Fabulous

The location and staff were excellent, but I think they could do more to cultivate the culture of staying in a hostel. My roommates were loud (speaking at 12am) and messy (kept belongings all over the room rather than in cages). People regularly left tables messy in the dining area.

    Very Good

The hostel is very centrally located and has excellent pubs very close by. There is also a bookshop with a cafe next door with a great range of books. However, the hostel itself is not particularly welcoming in terms of staff and while clean, it could do with an upgrade, especially for the bathroom in the case of my shared room. The breakfast is excellent.

    Very Good

This was the cheapest hostel I could find that didn’t have absolute terrible reviews. And I agree it was a decent hostel. The rooms were a little small but definitely do able. Only one shower/bathroom to a room of 8. Breakfast was bread and cereal, but hey it was free. Anybody could be let into the hostel which is kind of alarming, but you need a key card to get to the stairs, and into your room. My only complaint was the other guests staying, and their level of disrespect towards others

Security: - There are cages for locking up belongings in the dorm, but the hostel does not provide locks for rental, they have to be purchased. - The night shift receptionists buzz anyone in without checking anyone's reservation. Instead they go back to their nap at the front desk. - The luggage storage is not monitored and anyone that is let into the hostel can help themselves. Location: - Next to or across from a techno club that blares bass drums until early morning. Staff: - I was accuse

Ashfield Hostel says

This place has the perfect combination of location and comfort, opposite Trinity College but in a quieter street. We cater to all ages - backpackers, school and university groups, families, couples, etc. We've got a free walking tour every morning, a pub crawl from the hostel every evening and free DVDs/games. The building has an elevator and our fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable, good-looking staff are happy to help anyone who needs assistance. They also have tons of recommendations; personally, I usually tell guests they should visit the Book of Kells at Trinity College and Library. Lynda, General Manager
