Clean, comfortable, friendly, hot showers. Value for money. There is no lift, so if you have any issues with a lot of stairs ask for a room close to the ground floor :) I would stay here again 100%.

They make you feel very welcome. I don’t usually bother with the arranged nights at hostels but I arrived in time for a “free vegan dinner” and couldn’t resist that. It is free but you can donate money and since it was delicious I was happy to put a few £ in the box. At nights they had “sofar sounds” which was excellent. I really liked the vibe at this place, the price is really good and the location is also perfect for walking around the park or renting a bike. All things considered 10/10

I was in the 10 female dorm and it was good experience for my first hostel. Pros: Everyone has their own separate locker, the hostel is a 1 minute walk to Hyde park, close to the underground, in close vacinity of supermarkets and a safe area to be around at night if your by yourself. Cons: the bathroom is ok but the shower is super tiny, the shower curtains don't do a lot to stop the water getting out. The hostels breakfast is really good value for money, I would totally recommend this place

Really liked it here. Stayed in the 12 bed mixed dorm which was a fun experience. The ensuite was usually pretty clean but the toilet kept blocking. Staff were happy to fix when told. Kitchen and dining space is amazing and the lounge is a great place to chill out and watch Netflix. Location is just perfect. Would recommend staying here.

    Fabulous

Staff were great, room was great, security was great, beds were okay, pillow was not the best, bathrooms were clean-ish (most of the time they wreaked of urine). Location was soooo accessible. Laundry facilities were as expected. Breakfast option was fine - pretty good for £1 Key take away: bring your own pillow, flip-flops are a must, if you need to do laundry, allocate more than you think.

The overall good atmosphere during the day but difficult to sleep. Everything from the door to the stair to the beds was squeaky and loud. Not a good place to get a decent night of sleep.

    Very Good

Location is great, stuff friendly but 6 months after I was told that Astor is in 'process' of changing beddings - duvets, pillows, old bed shits, that change didn't happen. Lot of duvets are old and filthy, huge yellowish stains which is from orei guests urinating in beds. I was given bed shits that was so thin from usage that I had to request new bed shits. My duvet was not clean even though prior to my arrival I specifically asked to be given clean duvet and decent thickness of pillow.

I took a chance on this hostel based on the high reviews, and was very disappointed. The location was pretty good; easy access to multiple bus stops, and it felt like a safer area. I booked a 4-bed mixed room as a solo female and entered my room - which smelled horribly of sweat even from the outside - to find a man of at least 55 laying in the bunk below mine. Not what I expected at a "youth" hostel! The bed/linens were very thin, and the room was filthy. The staff were not very helpful.
