First time in a hostel, was pleasantly surprised. It was very clean, they gave beds new duvet covers between people. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and its near both the green and orange metro lines

Close to the metro and we’ll maintained hostel. The kitchen was very well equipped. The breakfast was good and the staff helped me with reading different ingredient labels as I can’t eat milk products. Krishna who works there gave me a great itinerary to explore Montreal on foot for the day.

Fabulous place for my husband and I to stay. Very central and so close to Metro for getting around! Free breakfast was great and happy hour at 5pm. Staff are all fun and knowledgeable! We will be back! The only reason I didn’t give a 10 was because the a/c wasn’t working! But fixed this morning in time to go back for two nights next week! A great experience! Thank you !

Really awesome hostel for the price! Love that they offer proper vegan options at the breakfast. This is in no way normal in North America unfortunately.

This hostel was so great I ended up coming back a few days later! Excellent coworking spaces (I had a sunlit room to myself most days). A lamp, shelf and outlet next to every bed. Friendly staff. Good access to public transit. Good coffee with breakfast.

We loved the location, cleanliness, ease. Great to have a quiet place to return to. Only complaint was people returning all night long and talking in the hallways.

    Very Good

    - great breakfast - staff doesnt seem to know montreal too well, such as where to get a bus ticket to toronto - i stayed in a private room downstairs which is a bit old and seemed quite used and come to an age.

The bad: Room was not nice. There's only one room that looks like the picture advertised, so the listing is deceptive. The beds are ridiculously squeaky. You couldn't shift your body without creating noise. The beds didn't have curtains so there's no privacy. The washroom also smelled like urine. Room felt dirty. Far from old Montreal. The good: Short distance from the central train station. Close to St. Catherine's street which is good for restaurants. Staff constantly cleaning communal areas.

Auberge Saintlo Montreal says

I like to think we specialize in helping travellers get the full Montréal experience. To do so, Gab organizes free daily activities to take people off the beaten path: bike ride, urban walks, pub crawls, comedy nights and so on. They are fun and informal ways of seeing the city, plus they are perfect socializing opportunities! We also try to partner up with many local events and places we love as to encourage people to discover the best Montreal has to offer. And finally, our ultimate secret ingredient is our staff! They're great, funny, creative and helpful. We love them and you should too!
We're right downtown, close to pubs, clubs, museums and the crazy shopping street of Ste-Catherine. However, I do recommend that everyone ventures out a bit further to discover what the Plateau, the Mile-End and the Petite-Italie have to offer!
I'd say the hostel is suitable for anyone between 7 and 77, just like these good old board games! However, we tend to have a higher concentration of travellers between 18 and 35 years of age. Generally, these are backpackers, students moving to Montréal, people on working holiday visas or groups of friends from nearby places, such as Toronto or New York, coming to spend the weekend in the city.
