Great! A very nice, quiet hostel in a residential area close to Roma Street station (one of the main stations in Brisbane). Most of the people staying there seem nice too, in contrast with other hostels I have stayed at in Australia, which seem to attract overly loud boisterous types.

Beautiful building, nice staff, clean bathrooms, my room had a balcony 😍. Good vibe and many common areas! Walking distance from Greyhound bus terminal. Kitchen needs a little more love.

Beautiful, quiet place to stay with a great deck. Lots of friendly people staying - not a party hostel which felt really nice. Lots of space in the room. The only iffy things were the kitchen open times - no access to the kitchen until 8:30am wasn't the best, hesitant staff, and aircon. If you don't ask by 8pm to have aircon turned on in your room over night, then you won't have any. There's also barely any aircon anywhere in the hostel during the day which was brutal in this summer heat.

The big draw card - a pool! And it's a smaller hostel compared to those around it, so it's a quieter atmosphere. This might be just what you're after if you're tired of loud, obnoxious party animals or you've been told you're "too old" for the hostel near the fire station (how AGE-IST!). So this is good value, family friendly and great if you want something tucked away off the main road but still very close to the CBD, basic shops, pubs and need a dip in the pool. Good value!

Location was alright- 10-15 minute walk to downtown & Southbank but off any busy roads so it was quiet. The 4bedroom dorm we were in (I was with one other friend) was very small so when all beds were filled there was no room for our suitcase and backpacks comfortably. Rooms were very hot but they did have a fan in it to keep the room cool during the day and a/c at night when requested. Staff was friendly aside from the girl who cleaned- awkwardly came in without knocking and didnt speak to us.

    Very Good

Aussieway was a decent hostel. I found some of the rules a little restrictive, such as the kitchen closing at 9 and only opening at 8:30. It was a little cheeky when I thought I was booking a 4 bed dorm, which I was... to find out that was of the beds was a double and a couple stayed in the room with us. Maybe it should be listed as a 5 person to be more accurate for the consumer. Overall it is a quiet hostel if that's what you're looking for.

    Very Good

Not so great: A member of staff was pretty rude when we checked in because we questioned why the hostel had taken a second deposit before we stayed. Note, we were charged the correct amount in the end, but I didn't appreciate being spoken to like a child. We reserved beds in the same room but we're split up when we checked in. Good points: Free WiFi throughout the property that works well. Clean pool. Nice communal areas to sit in.

Expensive for what you get. Staff was late in the morning so we couldn't leave till 9. Room ac was super cold (too cold) and when we brought it up the next day it was kind of shrugged off. Great location but otherwise mediocre hostel compared to others we stayed at.

Nothing special But my main concern is with the Fact they took money from my debit account without my authority, I paid in Cash the correct amount less booking fee from Hostel world I contacted on same day of transaction, after two weeks a payment was given back to my account but after Charing me 3% for a card I never authorised the hostel to use, I’ve lost money in two transactions from $ To £s. E mails from Hostel did not comply with what happened, Complaint on going.

Bad experience. Pros: good location Cons: bad wifi; kitchen closed until 8:30am (??); passive-aggressive, unavailable staff; no alcohol; no breakfast included. Je déconseille cet endroit. Plusieurs règles restrictives, personnel antipathique. No aconsejo este lugar: encargados antipáticos, reglas restrectivas.
