Property Description

Ayahuasca Casa Artistica is nestled in the beautiful mountains just outside of Jardin. Not only is this a hostel for travelers but a place to disconnect from the outside world and connect with our Pachamama. Through the artwork on our walls we share the story of our ancestors and the land we tread on, opening people’s eyes to the history that is often hidden or mistold. Working together with travellers, locals and artists at Ayahuasca, we aim to exchange cultures in a positive way, through various artistic and holistic practices.

As part of our cultural project we have a tattoo studio, yoga and meditation hut and a permaculture garden which feeds our vegetarian restaurant in Jardin. We host various activities such as salsa classes, themed cinema nights, craft workshops, community meals and bonfires under the stars. If you have any questions regarding the cultural project, please don't hesitate to contact us. It is a constant work in progress but we are evolving and growing every day!

The finca is an old coffee farm set alongside stunning mountains of coffee and banana plantations. The land is abundant in coffee and fruit and we offer free tea, with herbs from the garden and seasonal fruit. We have a shared kitchen, a common area with a big table for communal meals and a terrace with hammocks to admire the views of the mountains. We have social games such as chess, ping pong and a playstation to interact with other visitors. There are various rooms available including two 6-bed mixed dorms, one with ensuite bathroom, a 6-bed ensuite female dorm, a private room with ensuite bathroom and a new private glamping cabin.

We are only a 30 minute walk or short ride by bus, jeep or motoratón to the centre of Jardín if you wish to visit the charming pueblo and sip on a coffee in the main square. There are plenty of hikes to waterfalls and viewpoints or we can organise tours to go horseback riding, paragliding or visit a coffee farm. Or better yet you can sit in a hammock at the hostel with a good book and admire the beautiful mountains around us.

We look forward to welcoming you!

I'm already planning my next trip to Jardin for January and I will definitely stay at Ayahuasca again, it not only has a perfect view of the mountains for you to relax for a bit laying on the hammocks but the staff was so attentive and chill that you feel like you're visiting long-time friends.

I absolutely loved this place! Super chill and really cool space to just relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. The owners are incredibly kind and make the best vegan breakfast! Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Super chilled hostel outside of jardín with a nice view. Perfect to relax and stay for a while after stressy days. Really nice stuff and a big common area - perfect to make new friends. But still there are enough hammocks outside to be alone if you want to. Just the kitchen is not really good equipped and a bit small for the amount of guests and you should be aware of the long distance to the town.

The hostel is amazing, nested a short 30 mins walked away from Jardin center is a super cozy hostel set into a large property. The owners are amazing and the atmosphere as well. Would definitely go again.

Together with other travellers that I met at the hostel, we were quite surprised that this place has such a high rating of over 9. The first couple of days of my stay the kitchen was shockingly dirty. We felt uncomfortable cooking there cos there were flys everywhere because of the mess. But to be fair, I guess this was due to other irresponsible guests, not really the hostel staff’s fault, but they do have the responsibility to tell these guests to clean up after using the kitchen.

Pros: beautiful setting, chill vibe, nice staff Cons: somewhat far from town and you have to walk down a busy road (with no illumination at night) or pay for a tuk tuk, some rooms don't have windows, breakfast not included Perfect spot if you want to retreat and enjoy your time at the hostel. Much less ideal if you want to spend your days exploring the hiking trails and the town

Ticks in the bed, bed collapsed on my face in the night, then got told off by another lodger because I made a noise as I was hurt (who wouldn't though?), but lovely staff and beautiful location

After reading some great reviews, I was really disappointed that the hostel didn’t live up to my expectations. The dining area and rooms were pretty dirty - with old food & dead flies scattered around. The beds were very uncomfortable, and the location wasn’t great - had the hostel had a better atmosphere and more things to do I wouldn’t have minded so much, but sadly this wasn’t the case. Ended up leaving a night earlier than planned.
