Property Description

In Tehuelches mothertongue, the word 'Aylen' means 'ember' and 'Aike' means 'place'. Aylen-Aike is a 'warm place'.

Our hostel has a great panoramic view, from which you can see the hill by itself, the Torre (Tower) hill, the Del Bosque (Forest) range and the grand Fitz Roy.

Aylen-Aike is located by the riverside -De las Vueltas- having access to the small forest of ires a type of beech on its slope, and at the front, a wall made up of the mountain range of the Condors.

El Chaltn is a place with glaciers, mountains, rivers, forests, and with the giant Fitz of all times at the front. Patagonia and specially El Chaltn are places to visit, admire, love and respect, places to contact nature and feel really pleased... and to listen to the wind.

This hostel epitomizes what a great hostel should be. Clean, friendly, people there are outgoing, great vibe, wine at night, and it’s all led by the leader and host Sebastien. I actually only got to stay for one day, and he allowed my travel companion to deal with our travel crisis, handle there, offered us everything and had no obligation to. I can’t wait to come back to El Chalten to complete my hiking there, but also to experience staying here longer. Incredible hosting job, great place!

Cozy hostel with a nice atmosphere and a crazy owner (Sebastian) who add a different, down to earth, genuine feel to the place, a much-welcomed and needed flavor (rarely found) in the world of hostels. Plenty of information about hikes is available, Sebastian helps with anything you might be in need of for a good stay there (including motivation to get out on the trails :), you have access to a well-equipped kitchen, the place boasts with excellent cleanliness, and a strong 'buena onda'!!

The owner, Sebastian, is a real card. I got rained in, and had a really good group of hikers and travellers to hang out with. Watch out for the wine cupboard - it's easy to keep drinking the reasonably priced wine and have a hard hike to wake up for the next morning. Also, the town has new internet, and the wifi here is some of the best I've had at a hostel.
