Lucas was especially nice and helpful. He checked me in early because the spar was available and my bus got me to town at 6:45am. I was able to put my stuff in the storage room. I had a bed in a four bed dorm that was clean and warm, and had a sink inside and a little table and chair. I would stay here again.

Thanks for the 94 % rated review for the 1st historic hostel of Paris, built by the french painter Henri GERVEX... Nowadays a collaborativ hostel, managed since 1948, by the 1st non-profit youth hostelling organization in Paris (stricly reserved for open mind people, with a youth spirit), to get a cheap bed + a free early french breakfast on a stunning location : just between Champs-Elysées avenue, Arc de Triomphe & Parc Monceau... Hope to see you soon in Paris...

I was only here for a night to catch an early morning bus, so I really only showered and slept. The hostel is very clean and the beds are comfortable with spacious rooms, and it’s not a loud hostel so you can definitely get a good nights sleep. It is a little far out of the center of Paris but not a big deal with the metro. The atmosphere was pretty quiet and it seemed like most people kept to themselves, there wasn’t a great place to meet people and many didn’t seem interested in chatting.

We loved to stay there, staffs are great, the place is so beautiful and nice! Also, the breakfast was amazing! When we arrived, they gave us a better room than the one we had reserved, so I really loved the place!

My stay was short, only one day but I will definitely come back here. The location is perfect for someone who likes to explore the nearby cafes, walk about 15 min to Champs-Elysées and also be well-connected to other parts of the beautiful Paris as Courcelles train station is a very short walk too, about 3 min. The staff at the reception are also very helpful, specially Lucas who gave me great tips about where to eat the best confit the canard :). Tasty breakfast, not to be missed!

We were a group of 5 girls and were traveling to France for the first time. The staff was extremely cooperative. The rooms were clean and tidy. The place has multiple train stations around it and it even has a quite big market to wander. Would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone travelling to France.

I spent two nights here just as a cold snap hit Paris, and no heating was put on, despite the fact that the staff had been asked numerous times and people were having to sleep in coats because it was so cold. The staff either said they didn't know how to work the heating, or that they weren't allowed before a certain date. Everyone I spoke to was unhappy about it and some even left the hostel because they weren't able to sleep. Aside from that, it's a nice looking building and in a good location

Dear traveller, thank you for taking your time to write us a review. We're happy you've enjoyed our location and cleanliness. Staff were friendly and helpful. Main complaint is that not one of the outlets in the room worked.

Thanks for the great location, unfortunately we can't guaranty the smell of your roomate in a dorm room to share, full booked on saturday night with your late arrival it was impossible to manage any switch of room, as choice to respect sleepers : free speed wi-fi only in the lobby, in our 24h non stop soft bar & in our cute private court yard, our luggage room is locked & under a camera control, we can't do better... Hope to see you soon in a better mood, as the 1st non profit youth hostel in Paris, we well notice the little details & we'll work as much as we can, to increase your hostel as much as wished...

There is no locker to put your stuff in. The staff who helped me was in a bad mood. One key for the dorm! There was one electricity plug next to the room for the whole dorm. Only five plugs in the cafetaria. Not so clean sanitary...

Dear guest, thank you for taking your time to write us a review. We're happy you've appreciated our location. We're already working on having individual lockers available for everyone, in the meantime there's a locked luggage room accessible to all guests free of charge. Concerning the staff, we'll be talking to everyone to avoid this from happening again. As for electricity in the room, we can always provide extension plugs first request at the reception. We'll also be reforcing the cleanliness standard of the sanitary with the cleaning staff. We hope you give us a second chance on your next trip to Paris so we can show you our improvements! Best regards, the BVJ Paris
