Excellent location as it is within the CBD and fairly close to tourist attractions.

I'd never stayed in a place that was totally alcohol free, but I think it was a good idea because it probably kept the atmosphere calm with a fairly large number of guests staying there. If the shower had ever warmed above luke warm and the very loud hammering sounds on the southern side at 12 midnight were toned down then I'd recommend the place without any reservations.

A perfectly adequate hostel with the best price and location we found for our stay in Hobart. The building is old with lots of echoing hallways though - it's impossibly loud if your room is near the common areas like ours was (204).

Kitchen is small and not well equipped. No character hostel seems opposite of cozy.

This place was okay. Pros: good wifi, plenty of communal areas, walking distance to a # of places, good night security Cons: the beds would squeak, even with just simple talking; not many plugs in the room; towels cost ; street parking (but only at night, you have to move your car before it costs $ at 0800); no oven; and worst of all...the kitchen closes at 9:30p and doesn't open until ~8am and this isn't indicated on the website.

Beds were super comfy, but this isn’t a place to have fun. Rules upon rules, and on top of that, no hot water in the showers. Bathrooms seemed not to be cleaned regularly and the staff were pretty unfriendly. Would’ve been great for a one night stay but I wouldn’t stay here long term again.

Location, cleanliness and comfort are perfect. Kitchen closes at the ridiculous time of 21.30. When it’s time, they insist you on leaving kitchen, no matter if you are still cooking. Besides, everyone tries to cook at the very same time, so it becomes chaotic. There are two kinds of people who stay in hostels: backpackers and workers. For both cases, having to cook late is more than probable. Also, washing is $8/hour. But washing and drying takes more. I consider that’s a bit expensive.

Overall lovely place and definitely nicer than the more pricier places in Hobart, a few odd restrictions and unfortunately the laundry prices are pretty much the same price as a room for the night!

I've been very unhappy with how the management treated us. We got fined 30$ for something that was purely an accident and I've never been so ashamed of the behaviour of someone else before. It was absolutely reckless that they fined us and although the hostel was nice and the other guests and the staff extraordinarily friendly, I left with a bad feeling. The management is not open to find compromises.

Staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful with the queries I had. It is unsanitary and an uncomfortable environment and I had only stayed there for a single night and still got this impression. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone even for the low price it cost. It had a weird vibe and I won’t be staying there again
