I honestly had low expectations for staying here, but I was way off. I met some amazing people and while Alaska is truly amazing, staying at Basecamp made it even better!! Thanks!!

Super great hostel in Anchorage, really easy access to major bus routes (which also go to the airport). Very clean, good space, comfy couches, free coffee, communal kitchen, rental camping equipment (including bear spray!), big lockers, extension cords accessible from beds, blackout curtains in the dorm windows, sauna out back. Really the only thing I look for in hostels that this one didn't have was privacy curtains around the bunks. This hostel also had a chill, diverse crowd!! 10/10

Basecamp was perfect. Easy to get to on the #40 busline, affordable and the other folks there were fun to talk to. The hikers I was hiking stayed at a hotel downtown that I found out was 7x more expensive but was terrible. I'd stay at the hostel again.

Very very clean! The staff were kind, friendly, responsible, respectful, and available. The rooms were kept clean, and every room has a UV air purifier as well. Absolutely would stay here again.

Unequivocally one of the best hostels in the world. The staff is beyond welcoming and the vibe is like a family. With bonfires, musicians on staff, a float tank, sauna this joint is the well thought out vision of what a hostel could potentially be. The neighborhood is funky and eclectic but love the Spenard edible delights, coffee vendors windmill and the world famous hub of frivolity Koots. What is best is the people mover to both downtown and airport half block walk.

Great location and facilities. Comfy beds, easy to get to from the airport bus, lots of good food and a great bar nearby. The floor of the dorm could have used a good sweep, but otherwise everything was quite clean. Definitely recommend.

Pros: Wifi is great. The staff are very friendly/helpful. The kitchen/bathrooms are kept extremely clean. The rentable bikes make exploring the city really fun. They also had bear spray for rent as well. The other occupants I met were all wonderful to talk to Cons: The 4 bed I was in was a concrete room in the basement with bunk beds in them, they don’t clean the rooms if there are occupants because there was a bunch of hair/dust on the floor that was already there. Mattress is really thin

Although folks were pretty welcoming at the hostel, it was not the greatest ambiance. I think the thing that was most frustrating was how dirty the hostel was and yet quite pricey for what was offered.
