I strongly recommend staying in base Queenstown. Staff were great, very welcoming from the moment we arrived to the day we left. Clean hostel, has all facilities and the hostel had a good atmosphere especially on the night!

Cleanest hostel we’ve stayed in, we seen workers cleaning all the rooms hallway and kitchen most of the time. Bed sheets were fresh and the kitchen is big. The staff were welcoming and they helped us plan our trip for Australia. We got free tickets for drinks at the bar, the bar staff were friendly as well. Location is perfect right in front of food shops and the city centre. Also they have a lounge area next to reception which is handy. Best hostel we’ve stayed in in New Zealand.

Big hostel, basic rooms but had everything you need! Kitchen is available for everyone to use and the bar next door serves breakfast for free. There’s mini supermarket across the road and lots of shopping places near by!

Very apprehensive about staying here due to the bad reviews, however we were pleasantly surprised. It’s perfectly located, with a bar attached to it. The rooms were basic but cleaned daily. The staff front of house were super helpful, especially ALEX who was amazing, he sorted us out with lots of excursions for a good price and gave us lots of recommendations to make the most of our stay in Queenstown. Big shout out to Sammie for lending us her straighteners when ours broke! Thanks so much!!

We really loved the staff and central location of the hostel- being so close to everything really had its perks! However, sleep was hard to get. Our room was right above the alley and there were garbage and sewer trucks working there at 5am. Sleep was difficult to get after a full, adventurous day.

Unless you’re in Queenstown to party every. Single. Night...don’t stay here. You can hear the loud music from every floor, so if you’re a light sleeper, you’re doomed. Even if you do manage to fall asleep, the doors are super creaky, so every time someone comes into the room the door wakes everyone up. The kitchen is okay, but very outdated and crowded. The only good thing about this hostel is the staff, who were all really friendly. If I was here to get wasted every night, would stay again.

A fairly cheap option for Queenstown, staff were great. Got moved rooms halfway through my stay and noticed considerable difference in standards. No security options lockers for personal belongings in 4 bed. 4 bed dorms are pretty much same size as the 8 bed so expect to be squeezed into a room for 8 people. Kitchen has most of what is needed but the cooking hobs probably need an update or clearer instructions on use. Bar is directly below and so expect noise till early hours in the morning.

Absolutely filthy, noisy, kitchen facilities well below bar. 4 chargers in a room of 8 people and all by one bed. Nothing works showers don’t have a temperature setting. Locks on the toilets and showers are temperamental either they don’t work or you are locked in. Other guests have total lack of respect for the place and others- one being sick through the room following a night out. You are ********* by sales staff every single time you walk through the door for trips. Needs knocking downAVOID!

A hellish nightmare. Obnoxious staff who lose any desire to help you if you arent interested in expensive activities they try to sell you. No can opener. No freezer. $6 laundry. Horrible music blasting at all hours. They expect you to turn the oven on with small bic lighters-you will burn your hand. Dry hostel-people will drink in your room. Only hot water in showers. Codes on doors sometimes just dont work. Ruined queenstown for me. Sure, its cheap but you couldnt pay me to go back. Dont do it!
