Property Description

Beijing Alley Hostel is a work of art created by time. It is located in the Dongsi business district, adjacent to Dongsi Subway Station, and the transportation is very convenient. Attraction such as Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Lama Temple are not far, where you could experience the history and culture of the city. We have a very big balcony with good views. Guests like sit on the balcony with a glass of wine. From Spring to Autumn, from sunrise to the night, you could see different views of the Hutongs. Sometimes, people will play the guitar and sing a song. The beautiful music and the mellow wine give you another reason for not going out. Hidden in the narrow Hutong, Beijing Alley Hostel is expecting your coming!

    Fabulous

Nice, homely and welcoming hostel with great staff and comfortable beds. Showers are lovely, bathrooms are clean with hot water. No food served, but that was okay for me as I didn't want to eat there. Lots of activities advertised, it was easy to find things to do. Convenient location, 5 minutes walk from Dongsi station. Only suggestion - please make the directions clearer! 500m from the station is not specific enough! The sign is there but you have to have sharp eyesight to spot it!

    Very Good

You can go anywhere from Dongsi but food options are a bit limited. Staff not very heipful when I asked about a place to get breakfast. (just said "outside"). It was easy to find: just go north from the station on main road (left side)till you see the hutong name sign. Go right at the public toilets. Not a bad hostel for the price. And there's an adorable little cat.

Not a bad choice. Very no frills with no windows and a toilet/shower built-in for the en-suite. Ceiling is kind of low for the bunk beds and seems to be even smaller than a single bed so not for taller travellers.

    Good

The location of this hostel is great - close to the Dongsi Metro station and some relevant attractions (e.g., The Forbidden City). The staff is very friendly, although some of them cannot speak English very well. Cleanliness may be an issue (room floors not cleaned on a daily basis, for instance), but if you are willing to keep reminding the staff about trash removal, regular toilet paper supply, you can be fine. I met lots of interesting people, and the staff is overall very helpful.

When we arrived we thought we were in the wrong place as it didn't look like the photos. Then they told us our room was broken and took us to another hostel. We suspected they had given our room to someone else. It was called home hostel, had far lower reviews. We saw the room and decided to stay somewhere else. They were going to charge us the same price as Beijing Alley. Hostel world have been very helpful but as the hostel has not responded we are still waiting for our deposit back.

Actually they made me move to another hostel called party hostel which was quite far from downtown! I’ve never been in this situation and I did book it since 5 days before! Fortunately at least I got somewhere to sleep! But far, and not that good!

Hard to find the hostel, its in a creepy back Alley. The manager in the hostel was minimal at english and couldn’t help us with anything. His answer was just that he didnt work here normally, he was from hong kong and didnt know Beijing. He was just stepping in for the Owner. He also gave us the wrong directions for the trainstation, were we was going to take the fast train to Qinhuangdao . Cheap hostel but not worth the stay. Its also dirty around, and the balkony is a mess.
