Pros: good wifi connection, netflix, great breakfast and it is well-located. Staff try their best to receive you well, and early check-in was arranged for me, which was nice. Cons: Free aircon is only between 7pm until 7am. You can have aircon during day time for a R$ 30 fee per room. For two times there was no toilet paper in the toilet, nevertheless, overall the place was clean. All in all, the place offers good value for money compared to other options in town. I'd recommend.

Hostel is close to the main attractions in Belem - Teatro da Paz, Mercado Ver o Peso and other useful amenities (banks and bus to airport). It is a bit run down and needs a lick of paint - was being renovated while we stayed and could use some extra ambience e.g. plants, more seating, etc. Only one bathroom/shower on floor with all the dorms, busy. Breakfast was pretty good. If you have a late departure, you have to pay 40R to stay at hostel past 7pm on day of your check out.

Avisamos que chegaríamos de madrugada, mas não tinha ninguém para nos recepcionar e ficamos na rua. Uma das hostess, a menina, estava sempre mau humorada e não sabia dar informações. Mas nosso quarto era bem limpinho e confortável.

This hostel was ok and the staff were friendly. It was in the hostel and the rooms don't even have fans. The a/c is only switched on about 8pm. There are only 2 shower room room with big queues. An average hostel.

Had a run in with one of the staff because a friend of mine who arrived to join me on an adventure used the shower. Was then harrassed by a staff member for a while until he asked for 30Reais for my friend to have a cold water shower. Not particularly hospitable. Also, the AC in the room was set way too cold by other guests. Breakfast was OK, place was clean enough, the staff were generally pretty good apart from that one incident. The biggest issue with Belem hostel is that it's in Belem.

The staff are very nice and helpful but there is zero atmosphere at this place and the bedroom/bathrooms were not very nice. I cut my visit short in hopes of staying at a better spot.

This hostel is in a good spot if you want to go by boat into the Amazon. It’s close to the port and the Ver-a-peso market, safe to walk during day. We arrived at midnight & to our surprise the room had been booked by ‘someone who wanted to stay another night’. No excuse! So we stayed in a sort of staff dorm room for full price. Breakfast ok, reception guy was nice enough, no atmosphere and weird smell in hostel. Also there is only one bathroom for entire floor so we ended up not using it...
