Property Description

Our life’s greatest adventure is to find where we belong.

And so with bags all packed, we take our restless feet to the ends of roads we know. We listen to our restless hearts as they beat faster to the laughter of strangers turned friends, and to the stillness of houses turned homes. We let our restless minds turn us into storytellers.

BHUMI is a growing family of travellers who share the same passion in adventure seeking while being responsible to mother earth. We dedicate a big chunk of our home to Permaculture Organic Garden where most of our organic food waste is recycled into fresh produce. We seek unique experience, be it hiking an active Mount Merapi Volcano to chase sunrise, meditating in Borobudur temple, drawing Batik on a piece of cotton cloth, or seeking most vibrant food the city has to offer.

Not all adventures are made the same — yours is waiting for you in this corner of the world.

I enjoyed my stay at Bhumi Hostel. The beds are comfy, there is a permaculture garden in the front, and there is free vegetarian breakfast, which is well-prepared. There is cool neighborhood restaurant called Kedai Den Wir which is walking distance and tucked around the corner. Anywhere you want to go in downtown is easy to get to by Grab, but note that Yogyakarta is a large city with many neighborhoods so depending on where you want to go, it might take you a while.

This place is a hideen gem. It just hit all the right spots, e.g. friendly and helpful staff, smart communal area with local flavor decors, eco-minded, pets-friendly. Location wise it's actually located at the heart of an interesting neighborhood & Malioboro is only a short bus ride away. If you've been staying at hostels you will see they clearly know how to run a hostel that has a character. Jogja is more fun with such a great stay. Would definitely stay here again next time around!

Really nice hostel with amazing staff, especially the two volunteers who were there whilst I was staying. The breakfast was really good, and also the dining area is set up to encourage being social which is fab! Location wise, at first it seemed a bit out of the way but actually getting into town is super easy and cheap, and also good if you're heading east afterwards due to its proximity to the airport. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and reccomend to others.

We had a great time at Bhumi Hostel! The breakfast is delicous and if you have the chance to eat the dish with the yellow rice - do it! Bhumi is located a bit out of the city center but it’s really easy to reach everything by bus. Overrall, Bhumi is a oase in Yogyakarta and we would definitly come back to this lovely and peaceful place!

The staffs were amazing. I felt at home as soon as I arrived. They were really welcoming and the hosts and long term guests are more like old friends and family. If I go back to Jogja, I'd definitely go back to Bhumi hostel. I regretted staying only for a night.

Had such an amazing time at Bhumi hostel! The staff there were incredibly friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed - from scooter rental to food recommendation. Bed was comfy, ac on point, and the room has lockers with keys for extra security (which you won't need honestly). We loved the little garden that they've built. Guests can lull around the patio on a sofa or a hammock, read a book, and chill. They also serve a hearty breakfast which is a nice bonus!

I enjoyed staying at this hostel a lot, nice homey feeling. Although there were not many internal backpackers around this time of year.
