The best staff! They are all so super friendly and helpful. Location is cool cause it’s close to the city center and right next to the custard factory, which is a cool street art/bar area. Rooms were very basic. Clean yes. But very small, no curtains, beds were alright. I guess if you crash for a night or two it’s fine. They don’t really have a common area except for the small kitchen which is sad but they told me they’re gonna open a bigger common area in the next few weeks:)

    Very Good

Hostel conveniently central but street is run down and building is dwarfed by massive viaduct! Staff friendly and security good with keypad, key cards and lockers. Bathrooms nice and clean. Breakfast decent but kitchen was very small and it could do with another common room to go with small dining area. Good place to stay for one or two nights if you're going to a sport or entertainment event in Brum. If you are there for longer you might want to look for somewhere with more comfort and characte

An average stay. Not enough toilets for all the people staying there but more are being built so hopefully that improves things. The showers are very ordinary and definitely built for taller people. (Happened to me twice on two different showers where the head wasn't adjustable so water was just going over my head). The breakfast was free though which is always a bonus.

We stayed during the commonwealth games so prices were more than you would normally expect for a hostel. That said, it was more economical than the local hotels. I appreciate that the hostel is going through some renovations but the dorm was cramped and there were very few facilities. The common room / breakfast room was small and there is only one toilet on the first floor where most if not all of the dorms are. The kitchen wasn't the cleanest. Location good for city centre.

You get what you pay for with this hostel it’s a little bit out of the centre so good location and good price but not the nicest. Bunk beds are triple bunks which is difficult and the lack of plugs is an issue with only plugs on the bottom bunk and no extensions

The location is awful, in the middle of nowhere. I was expecting the building to be in the city centre, closer to a coffee shop or supermarket, but there’s nothing around. Having experienced the YHA hostels, I was expecting that standard of quality and comfort, but there’s no comparison.

The room was very small and hot. We were not able to open the window widely. On our floor we only had one bathroom for probably 8 rooms. In the ladies room were no lockers to keep your belongings safe. The kitchen was very old and dirty. There was no big common room.

If you are looking for cheap and cheerful, don't care about the location or the look / feel of the place then this is the place for you! Rooms are hotter than the sun though and you wake up with a sheen of sweat...
