This is a lovely little hostel and I enjoyed my stay. The common room was bigger than I expected, there was a TV, books, and board games, and the atmosphere was really nice. The staff were lovely. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm which was exactly what I expected, a room with 3 bunk beds, nothing fancy but it was comfortable enough. There was some noise from other guests (not from my dorm) walking around and talking loudly in the night, but I can't fault the hostel for that. I would stay here again.

As usual Birmingham Central Backpackers was first class. I got my usual bed which is my favorite and was able to cook my evening meal in the spotless well appointed kitchen. Had a shower in the spotless bathroom. As far as the above categories are concerned I would describe it as homely. The lounge is warm and comfortable with bit soft chairs and persian type rugs. Tea and coffee available from all the time with a hot water urn. As usual met some interesting people. I'll be back again

Staff were really cool. Especially the reception staff. Friendly, quick and talkative. Breakfast was decent too and free, tea and coffee all day which is very unheard of in hostels.

Lovely staff. Budget hostel, but for what I paid fantastic value. Free breakfast was a real plus and loved the fruit.

The common room is really nice in daytime. The showers are clean, but there is a general athmosphere in the rooms that is a bit weird, and the windows are rarely opened. Friendly staff though :)

I would not recommend this hostel. Not a great environment/feel and not in a particularly good area. If all you’re looking for something cheap, then it’s okay, but it wasn’t particularly clean and the staff that I checked in with were not focused on our conversation and we’re not particularly helpful. Additionally, there wasn’t anywhere to lock up belongings (at least that they told me of) and the bathrooms were gross enough that I just decided not to shower. Okay for one night I guess.

The environment was utterly dark, dismal and so very depressing. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe in such a environment The music was too loud one side of the lounge when trying to watch t.v on the other side No cooker in up stairs... through the purple doors. Too many beds in one small room is about profit rather than comfortable of the paying person
